Is Civil War Inevitable?

A headline from Breitbart to begin this column: "Report: Afghan National Suspect in National Guardsmen Shooting; Came to America on Biden Admin's Operation Allies Welcome; Permission to Stay Expired."

I wasn't aware that Afghans were ever our allies (not since the departure of the USSR from Afghanistan), but maybe there are a couple of people in Afghanistan who like America. Apparently, the guy who shot the National Guardsmen wasn't one of those two. But then, Biden has never known who our allies and enemies are.

The immigrants who came to America (mostly from Europe) in the late 19th-early 20th centuries assimilated into America because they wanted to. They were fleeing tyranny and oppression, and appreciated the freedom America offered them. We have a different cast of immigrants now. Some do want to assimilate and become Americans, but millions hate the country and want to remake it in their own image. The Democrats, of course, are encouraging this because they, too, hate traditional American values. They are socialists, Marxists, atheists, and want to undo the virtuous, limited republic established by our Founders. Thus, they applaud and welcome their new coterie of barbaric comrades who also hate America.

Will it lead to civil war? The Left is hoping to gain power again, of course, and, if a civil war starts, they want MAGA to initiate it. If patriotic Americans cave and give in to the godless, totalitarian socialism of the Left, that would be just fine with the Marxists. They would kill whoever they needed to kill and cower everybody else. Can you say "USSR" and "Communist China"? The 2028 election is going to be very interesting, indeed.

In the last 100 years, it was very unusual for a Leftist/Marxist/communist group to come to power without a civil war. Allende did it in Chile, I guess, but in Russia, China, Vietnam, Cuba, and Korea, there were civil wars, and in Eastern Europe and Tibet, it required Soviet and Chinese tanks and troops to put communism in power. Can the Left peacefully create a totalitarian dictatorship (it will start with "martial law") in America? We hope we never have to find out, but it is a question worth preparing for. The chances are probably none, and less than none. It would require a lot of deaths.

America, as I've noted before, is teetering on the brink. That's just the lesson of history. American historian and philosopher Will Durant beautifully describes the downfall of the Persian empire in the 4th century B.C. I shall quote him in two parts.

Why Empires Disintegrate

"It is in the nature of an empire to disintegrate soon, for the energy that created it disappears from those who inherit it, at the very time that its subject peoples are gathering strength to fight for their lost liberty."

America, technically, is not, and is not supposed to be, an "empire." We've cheated a little in the past, and we still possess "protectorates," a euphemism for "colony," which is a dirty word in our day. But, honestly, none of America's protectorates (that I can currently recall) have tried to break away from their overlords, as happened in Persia, and the British, French, and Soviet empires in the 20th century. We treat our colonies well. But Durant does make a valuable point. When a country works hard (as America did) and grows rich, fat, and lazy, it tends to lose the values that made it powerful in the first place. That is definitely happening in America, and if we don't regain the principles that made us a great nation, we are finished. The Democrats hope the great America never rises again.

The Role of Diversity in Empire Disintegration

Durant continues, and this is especially brilliant and pertinent:

"Nor is it natural that nations diverse in language, religion, morals, and traditions should long remain united; there is nothing organic in such a union, and compulsion must repeatedly be applied to maintain the artificial bond. In its two hundred years of empire Persia did nothing to lessen this heterogeneity, these centrifugal forces; she was content to rule a mob of nations, and never thought of making them into a state." (Will Durant, Our Oriental Heritage, 382).

A better description of what Democrats are deliberately doing in current America might be hard to find. The Persians just let it happen, hardly noticing what they had. The Democrats have purposely invited foreign, un-American elements into America, and are making every effort possible to keep these people separate and divided from traditional American values. Different peoples can live together if they create a common bond that is stronger than the differences that define them. Again, this happened to the immigrants 100 years ago. But the Democrats don't want that now. "Diversity is our strength" is one of the biggest piles of cholesterol-laden pig slop the Left has ever fobbed off on America. "Nor is it natural" that people "diverse in language, religion, morals, and traditions should long remain united; there is nothing organic in such a union," and as in the Soviet Union's diverse empire, "compulsion [had to] repeatedly be applied to maintain the artificial bond." As America has "diversified," it is no coincidence that the central government in Washington, D.C., has grown and expanded as well. The Democrats want the totalitarian power that Lenin, Stalin, Khruschev, etc. had in the Soviet Union. First, divide America; then, conquer. It's a strategy that has been successful in the past.

Yes, different peoples can live together if one of two things happen—one, the new ones willingly assimilate into the values, traditions, and cultures of the established communities without trying to destroy them. Again, America's earlier immigrants did that. The second way diverse peoples can live together is if they are held together by a totalitarian force. This is what the Democratic Party is trying to create in America today.

How long can two peoples who hate each other live together?

Speech (“Rivers of Blood”) at Annual Meeting of West Midlands Area Conservative Political Centre, Birmingham, England, 20 April 1968, in 'Observer' 21 April 1968 John Enoch Powell MBE (16 June 1912 – 8 February 1998) was a British politician, scholar and writer. He served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Wolverhampton South West for the Conservative Party from 1950 to February 1974 and as the MP for South Down for the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) from October 1974 to 1987. He was Minister of Health from 1960 to 1963 in the second Macmillan ministry and was Shadow Secretary of State for Defence from 1965 to 1968 in the Shadow Cabinet of Edward Heath.

The "Rivers of Blood" speech was made by the British politician Enoch Powell on 20 April 1968 to a meeting of the Conservative Political Centre in Birmingham. In it Powell, who was then Shadow Secretary of State for Defence in the Shadow Cabinet of Edward Heath, strongly criticised the rates of immigration from the Commonwealth of Nations (mostly former colonies of the British Empire – Africa/ Pakistan, India) to the United Kingdom since the Second World War. He also opposed the Race Relations Bill, an anti-discrimination bill which upon receiving royal assent as the Race Relations Act 1968 criminalised the refusal of housing, employment, or public services to persons on the grounds of colour, race, or ethnic or national origin. Powell himself called it "the Birmingham speech"; "Rivers of Blood" alludes to a prophecy from Virgil's Aeneid which Powell (a classical scholar) quoted:

As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding; like the Roman, I seem to see 'the River Tiber foaming with much blood'.[1]

The speech was a national controversy, and it made Powell one of the most talked-about and divisive politicians in Britain. Heath, the leader of the Conservative Party at the time, dismissed him from the Shadow Cabinet the day after the speech.[2] According to most accounts the popularity of Powell's views on immigration might have been a decisive factor in the Conservative Party's unexpected victory at the 1970 general election, although he became one of the most persistent opponents of the subsequent Heath ministry.[2][3]

The Camp of the Saints (French: Le Camp des Saints) is a 1973 French dystopian fiction novel by author and explorer Jean Raspail. A speculative fictional account, it depicts the destruction of Western civilization through Third World mass immigration to France and the Western world. Almost 40 years after its initial publication, the novel returned to the bestseller list in 2011.

2011: The French author contended that Europeans were gradually being replaced by immigrants from Africa and Asia and their descendants. (4 years before the mass hijrah spurred by the ISIS invasion in Syria in 2015)

Is Civil War Inevitable?

No.

As long as we still believe it is possible to work within the system the answer is no.

The moment we no longer believe in peaceful change and working together the answer changes to yes.

The trick is that only one side has to say yes.

The author poses a dumbass question.

Most people are blissfully & willfully ignorant that CWII has been engaged for quite some time, following the dual declaration by the state (9/11 & covid).

The sooner the right acknowledges that this IS a war - a COLD war with spillover; what adult doesn’t grasp that concept??? - and responds accordingly, we might have half a chance at tipping the scales.

They succeeded in taking over UK, are engaged in the takeover of EU and are colluding with progressives - most of whom are democrats - to do the same here.

ENEMIES. Proper threat response assures security. Oaths authorize - nay, MANDATE - action. But the right is in denial while the extreme left organizes, infiltrates all areas and lies in wait.

Right now, all we’ve got is DJT and he’s gone in 3 years (we all pray not sooner)...and frankly, I’m not impressed with this administration’s moves against the left (let alone those who targeted HIM).

AT ALL.

“And, you’ve heard this before, but they tell us that the average age of the average nation in civilization is 200 years. We’ve just passed our 200th birthday. And, they tell us that nations decay, and the walls of national defense fall, in nine cycles.

And, here they are: number one, people go from bondage to spiritual faith; number two, from spiritual faith to courage; number three, from courage to liberty; number four, from liberty to abundance; number five, from abundance to selfishness; number six, from selfishness to complacency; number seven, from complacency to apathy; number eight, from apathy to dependence; and, number nine, from dependence back again to bondage.

And, I believe we’re somewhere, right now, between number seven and number nine. That’s where we are. And, the walls have crumbled. And, I’m telling you, ladies and gentlemen, that it is time that some of us took our place along the walls and rebuilt the walls of defense that God wants us to have for our nation. And, I’m not just simply talking about more armament. I’m talking about moral armament and spiritual defense.”

I disagree. Most of the socialist & marxists who reject US values are home grown and in many cases from wealthy families.

While their views are problematic they are not the real threat.

The real threat are the islamists and (some) Chinese & Indians who refuse to assimilate. Unlike prior generations they have no intention of becoming Americans and should be deported.

I am ignorant of their book. Is there any passage that instructs followers to put away their swords? One that isn't surrounded by deceit? It seems they live, convert and die by the sword.

Is there an exhortation, anywhere in their book, to peace and love thy neighbor? I would like a learned scholar to answer that, as I do not trust they have not corrupted any search engine or AI tool.
