Cornell student paper under fire for publishing ‘highly offensive’ Palestinian artwork with Nazi symbolism

Cornell’s student newspaper sparked furious backlash after it published a professor’s incendiary artwork depicting a bloodied Star of David and Nazi “SS” symbol scrawled on the back of a Palestinian person.

The Cornell Daily Sun later took down the disturbing graphic after it was widely blasted as antisemitic, but the ordeal is raising concerns about a deeper cultural problem on campus.

“To me, it reflects the normalization of Holocaust inversion, both on the internet and now on Cornell’s campus,” William Jacobson, a law professor who founded Legal Insurrection, a conservative publication, told The Post.

“This [SS lighting bolt] graphic is specifically inside a bloody Jewish star. No reflection of it being even related to Israel. And it clearly is pursuing the idea that Jews are the new Nazis. And so I think it’s obviously highly offensive.”

The school thought it would be a good idea to publish that photo?

Things keep getting uglier and uglier.

The other odd thing about the drawing is that - based on the hair style - the person appears to be male, but the clothing has a feminine quality.

Would not have been a problem in Kiev (or Keeve, for you Zeepers out there).

I think this is non-binary Nazi art from the Cornell Daily Sin:

Well, the Israelis did hire Hitler’s favorite commando after the war.

I recall a rock band whose two founding members were both Jewish.

KissLogoFaces

Here's an article on the logo's creation and how they had to alter it to comply with German law.

It’s amusing that you’re trying to equate that with this Cornell BS.

I'm not equating that at all, just pointing out how we should be above getting worked up about symbols - yet they still maintain great power over people's reactions and psychology. Like how the Lefties are STILL maintaining Musk is a Nazi because of his happy gesture of acknowledgement many months back.

In this era of A.I. we're all potentially racist/fascist monsters at the whim of a cruel person's keyboard and "Enter" button. Seeing can no longer be believing.

It wasn't the school. It was a student newspaper (over which schools have little to no editorial control).

I didn’t say the article was A.I.; I was saying, beyond that professor lying and backtracking, that we shouldn’t allow ourselves to be knee-jerk from endless social conditioning.

I’d have a mighty struggle to run a stop sign or light. I’d never ingest anything from a container that has a skull and crossbones sticker on it. Social conditioning that I now think about when I used to just automatically react.

KISS got so much flack from the ‘S’s looking too much like the Nazis’ SS lightning bolt insignia when former art student Frehley was only thinking lightning bolts themselves. He didn’t automatically associate but heard it from those who do.

The “art” the professor shared was too obviously an accusatory swipe at Israel, pushing the lie that they’re trying to wipe out the Jordanian/Egyptian/Arabian attack-humans wrongly labeled ‘Palestinians’. I applaud Israel’s restraint while I wouldn’t have tolerated so many military casualties inflicted through being too kind and merciful.

As for A.I., I’m pointing out that it’s attained a level where discerning it from reality has become nearly impossible without other computer tools that can - hence we’re in for long-dead actors in new productions and audacious scams being pulled by people abusing the technology.
