Charlotte teen arrested 111 times in 2 years still walking free in soft-on-crime blue city: police

A Charlotte, North Carolina, teenager with 111 arrests in just two years has once again been released, as the blue city wrestles with repeat offenders.

During a Wednesday news conference, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) discussed the city’s latest crime stats. The city, according to the CMPD, experienced a 20% reduction in violent crime, which includes homicides, rapes, robberies and aggravated assaults, which encompass shootings.

But amid the positivity, there is reason for alarm, with more than half of those arrested for violent crimes having prior arrests — including teens. One example is an unnamed 15-year-old with an astounding 111 arrests since August 2023.

The 15-year-old’s record spans dozens of property crimes across the Queen City, including vehicle thefts, larcenies from cars and possession of stolen property. CMPD said the teen has been linked to about 50 separate cases involving at least 55 stolen vehicles and 45 break-ins.

"We continue to see a troubling pattern: a disproportionate number of violent incidents and property crimes are being committed by individuals with extensive criminal histories – many of whom continue to cycle through the justice system without facing meaningful consequences," said Sgt. Todd Martin of the Southeast Service Area Crime Reduction Unit.

"The cycle of catch and release does not reduce crime in our community," he said.

Martin revealed the repeat offender's disturbing search history.

"The following were Google searches found on the juvenile’s cellphone: What is the charge for killing an officer? Is police murder a charge? What is capital murder?" Martin said at Wednesday's news conference.

"These are the things a 15-year-old in possession of multiple firearms was searching for," he added. "Despite the juvenile’s delinquency history and repeat offender status, the juvenile was released back into the community in September."

I don’t care so much about that question; what I care about is how in the world does anyone get arrested on the average of once per week and is still walking around?

The Court TV Mommy “Judge” effect. Mommy “judgeez” don’t want their little boys going to jail or prison. They like “probation” better. That way there dream of little Willie getting a pro sports contract or little Dylan’s win on America’s Crappy Voices stays alive.

My question, was there really a drop in crime or a failure to report crimes which effectively lowered the numbers?

Just a teen, boys will be boys. It’s a learning curve. Soft discipline works...Trump’s fault.

The question I had: Does the city think they are changing the behavior of repeat offenders? If so, they’re inept if not corrupt, and many people need to be fired. Today.

Consequences, specially punishment is a great teacher. Is should be applied to the criminals and the so-called leaders of the city. Restitution, making it right, should be a mandatory requirement.

Criminal Example: steal a car and spend the next eight weekends in a bright orange jumpsuit cleaning highways in the hot sun, and still payback the victim (cash and/or property). Fail to show up for your punishment? Jail, followed by cleaning highways and payback to the victim.

City Leader example: Repeat offenders war at a certain percentage immediately trigger a percentage pay cut. Have the percentage penalty increase with how miserable they’re performing.

Zero tolerance, consequences and punishment.

Many years ago I taught at a juvenile prison—it was called a ‘youth center’. For what it’s worth, the rap sheets of kids locked up from St. Louis were a mile long. A kid had to be really persistent (and lousy) at crime to get sent to us. On the other hand kids from rural areas often found their way to us for a first offense.

It wasn’t just a racial thing, but it seemed that urban areas had a great deal more tolerance of crime and misbehavior than rural areas.

Failure to report is one method the Democrat Marxists use.

Another is police Brass and supervisors ordering officers to write less serious charges on their reports/referrals.

As for statistics, Prog politicians often select particular recent periods to compare crime rates from, instead of the baseline 30 years ago that should be used.

If you are not prosecuting crime and criminals, by definition there will be lower crime statistics. Does not mean that there is less crime.
