On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “11th Hour,” Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield (D) stated that if President Donald Trump is successful in his legal battle to use emergency powers to implement tariffs, then when a Democrat becomes president, “we’re going to have an emergency on climate change and maybe we’ll start putting tariffs on oil.”
Rayfield said, “I wish that we could sit here and have a real, candid conversation with Republicans who support this and say, listen, we’re going to get a Democratic president in here soon, and what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. And once we start doing this, we’re going to have an emergency on climate change and maybe we’ll start putting tariffs on oil.”

To a Democrat, a tax is the same as a domestic tariff, so they would “tariff” any interstate commerce in fossil fuels, because they never saw a tax they didn’t love (except on abortion doctors).

With the trillions of wasted spending on green initiatives and overregulation of sectors they deem a threat …. They’re already acting as if they have had the emergency authority all along. Whats the difference? Will this climate emergency put trillions in the treasury? Or dig us a deeper hole?
No, interstate tariffs are not legal. The Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution grants the federal government the power to regulate commerce between states, and the Import-Export Clause prohibits individual states from levying duties or imposts on imports or exports without Congressional consent. Any such tariffs on interstate trade or foreign imports would be illegal..................
If Trump promises and makes good on a promise to completely completely eliminate poverty, democrats will find a judge to reverse it and declare it unconstitutional.
If Trump set up a project to eliminate all cancers, democrats would seek to stop it, because, it would put millions of cancer workers out of work.
No matter what it is, Trump cannot be allowed to do any god and cannot take credit for anything that does good for Americans. To democrats, if Trump has any kind of successes, their party would be harmed, so, party first.
So do I.
