United States President Donald Trump has hosted his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the White House for the signing of a peace treaty between the two longtime rivals.
The US president said during a ceremony on Friday that he believed the two men would have a “great relationship” and that the agreement would bring peace and new economic opportunities to the region.
list “I want to congratulate these two great people, Prime Minister Pashinyan and President Aliyev, for coming to Washington to sign this momentous joint declaration,” Trump said.
“The countries of Armenia and Azerbaijan are committing to stop all fighting forever; open up commerce, travel and diplomatic relations; and respect each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
The agreement will create a transportation corridor between the two countries, which have been embroiled in territorial disputes since the disintegration of the Soviet Union more than three decades ago.
Those wars were largely fought over the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, which is within Azerbaijan’s borders but was previously populated by ethnic Armenians.
They were ultimately expelled en masse during an Azerbaijani offensive in 2023.
The deal grants the US exclusive developmental rights to the transport corridor, which will be dubbed the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity”.

Trump also added that the US was also signing bilateral agreements with both countries to increase cooperation in areas like energy, trade and technology, including artificial intelligence.
Kudos, 47.
The two countries in the South Caucasus signed agreements with each other and the U.S. that will reopen key transportation routes while allowing the U.S. to seize on Russia’s declining influence in the region. The deal includes an agreement that will create a major transit corridor to be named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, the White House said.

Finally!
Peace benefits everyone.
Problem is, people aren’t peaceable.
This is huge.
Let’s see… how many potential conflicts and wars has the Trump administration help stop? Off the top of my head…
India and Pakistan
Congo and Rwanda
Thailand and Cambodia
Serbia and Kosovo
Israel and Iran ( ceasefire )
Now we’re waiting on THE BIG, SEEMINGLY UNSOLVEABLE ONE: Russia and Ukraine
And yet, who won the Nobel Peace Prize? Barack Obama! Go figure.

The WH event was another great Trump ‘win.’ The follow-on press gaggle was interesting because it drew enthusiastic applause from the press corps a couple of times.

Once Trump leaves office the corridor will be used by their respective armies to go at each other again.
I don’t think the peace will resolve any of the underlying long established disputes and antagonizims with each other.
How Hitleresque of Trump. After all, Hitler was known for stopping wars all over the world, because he hated to see the loss of innocent life.

Aliyev and Pashinyan might end up sharing a Nobel Peace Prize for this.
Trump should of course be part of that. But given how woke the Nobel committee is, they might decide to give another one to Obama instead.
Just because.
(And yet, who won the Nobel Peace Prize? Barack Obama! Go figure.)
Son of Satan Barack Hussein Obama won that. Nobel Peace Prize for “future Middle East Peace”.
Globalist Henry Kissinger said: “Obama is perfectly positioned to lead a New World Order”
excellent point. Can you imagine how dems heads would explode if President Donald J. Trump won?
No one deserves it more
Additional to your list are a couple of things worth noting, attributable to Mr Trump. He's the first US President to go to the DMZ and meet with Kim Jong Whacko... an attempt to move the situation to something better. Also, under Trump's [first term?], flights from Riyadh to Israel started some time ago. I'm presuming they still run. Who would have guessed that?
Nobel committee loves liberals.
Looking forward to what's in the burn bags. I'm sure there is much more than what we've been told to date.
Mostly they were actors who benefitted from corruption.
