There’s a strange, unsettling irony in the endless chants for Donald Trump to release the so-called “Epstein names.” For many in his base, these demands feel like the final frontier of truth and justice. But this obsession isn’t born merely from a desire to protect the vulnerable or expose elite wrongdoing. Instead, it’s the byproduct of a deeper, more painful economic story — one that tells us far more about modern America than any flight log ever could.
When Jeffrey Epstein, charged with child sex–trafficking, was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell in August 2019, under bizarre circumstances — broken cameras, inattentive guards, a prior alleged suicide attempt — the spark of distrust ignited into a bonfire. For countless Americans, especially those already feeling the sting of economic decline, Epstein’s death became living proof that the system is rigged to protect the powerful and punish the powerless.
Indeed, Epstein’s billionaire status, ostentatious hobnobbing with powerful public figures, and glamorous bachelor lifestyle in Palm Beach raised antennae. So did the fact that females he victimized were, put mildly, from a different social stratum. Most alarming, however, was Alex Acosta — Trump’s Labor secretary from 2017 to 2019 — reportedly telling transition team personnel that he had been instructed to back off Epstein years before. Acosta was a federal prosecutor during George W. Bush’s administration.
Acosta, so the report goes, had been told that Epstein was connected to intelligence agencies. Acosta allegedly said the matter was “above his pay grade.” He neither confirmed nor denied this when asked directly during a press conference. For certain, during the late 2000s, Epstein served time only for state charges, as part of a work-release program typically reserved for lower-level offenders, not those convicted of child prostitution.

Bondi and Trump went through what was left of these ‘files’ after 4 years of Biden government handling of them, i.e. altering them, erasing stuff, adding fake stuff....I think Trump is kind of right here that what is left of this thing is a Democrat hoax.
There’s no way team Democrat left a beautiful gift to Trump that would destroy team Democrat, c’mon. The Rats are the freaking masters of fabricating evidence (Russia hoax), and hiding evidence or dismissing evidence of crimes (Biden classified documents in garage). Ghislaine Maxwell is convicted of trafficking women for Epstein. She found 16 and 17 year old wayward women, and offered them to make money by being prostitutes, and they probably did it with other famous rich people. Prince Andrew is the only name you’re ever going to get, so just deal. That’s your ‘Epstein Files’ for you.
Alex Acosta is still alive. I want to know if you believe Acosta is part of the hoax. He gave Epstein a sweet heart deal. Are you suggesting that Acosta knew the whole thing was a hoax?
He can testify before Congress about his disappearing emails and whether he was told to back off. Bush was President.
I think Trump is saying what is remaining is a hoax. No one will ever know the truth, it’s just a conspiracy that will be talked about for the next 50 years with every explanation only serving to spawn 1,000 new questions along with whatabouts buts and ifs.

Cotto wants to blame internet yakkers for building up expectations on exposure of Epstein crime network. As if Bondi hadn’t been chumming the waters for all she was worth, until she was obviously ordered to stop. As if Trump himself hadn’t mentioned Epstein during the campaign? The Epstein estate and several sub enterprises has paid tens of millions of dollars to victims. JPMorgan Chase has also paid over 100 million dollars to Epstein victims.
I haven't heard Florida, NY or the Feds apologize for not stopping America's worse sexual predator. And how they plan to stop future Epstein's, just that they don't want to harm the victims or guilt by association.
Very odd stuff. The Trump DOJ Epstein review said he had over 1000 victims, pretty incredible. What a monster.
Yet, there is no 'Never Again' chants from anyone, or from the government. In times like this, its usually because they want the issue to go away or are embarrassed or worse, complicit.
What is this Jeffrey Epstein Hoax that Trump is talking about? We all can walk and chew gum at the same time. If the Deep State has messed around and created a hoax, charge them and go after them with the same tenacity as the RussiaGate stuff.

Would it not have been far wiser to have Bondi come out and say that the files appear to have been corrupted and we can’t be sure if any of it is accurate, so we cannot release it for that reason?
The dismissal of it with a unsigned memo on a late night Holiday weekend, and leaked to Axios, created the appearance of hiding something. If you don’t want a fire to start, don’t strike the match.

A competent DOJ and FBI would be able to cut through the crap and get to the truth.
A competent AG wouldn’t issue binders and tease “the list” sitting on her desk and hundreds of hours of video and then say, oops, just kidding months later.
