MAGA activist Laura Loomer has set her sights on ousting Attorney General Pam Bondi, as the White House fends off fury from the president’s base over its handling of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s criminal case and death.
Loomer called on FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino to ask for Bondi’s public resignation Friday morning, writing on social media that Patel and Bongino had clashed with Bondi over the investigation.
Loomer also claimed that Bongino had taken the day off from work “to evaluate whether or not he wants to continue his position,” which POLITICO has not independently confirmed. Axios later reported that Bongino did not attend work on Friday after butting heads with Bondi earlier this week.
“Pam Blondi is very damaging to President Trump’s image. She drags the administration down and the base doesn’t want her as AG,” Loomer wrote in a post on X. “She is harming Trump’s administration and she’s embarrassing all of his staff and advisors by creating a PR crisis for them. It’s incredibly unfair to President Trump and his team.”
In a statement, White House spokesperson Harrison Fields disavowed reports of infighting surrounding the investigation within the administration. “President Trump has assembled a highly qualified and experienced law and order team dedicated to protecting Americans, holding criminals accountable, and delivering justice to victims,” Fields said. “This work is being carried out seamlessly and with unity. Any attempt to sow division within this team is baseless and distracts from the real progress being made in restoring public safety and pursuing justice for all.”
The Trump administration announced Monday night that a DOJ and FBI review found no evidence that Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 in a New York jail cell, kept an incriminating “client list” long sought after by conspiracy theorists.
Loomer’s pressure campaign is the latest development in an episode of Republican infighting about the investigation, with MAGA supporters fuming at Bondi’s Justice Department for not releasing more information about its findings.
Loomer, who has sought an official role in the administration, has long had the president’s ear, repeatedly targeting those whom she views as disloyal to the president.
In April, Loomer took credit for Trump’s firing of several National Security Council officials and criticized Trump’s pick to be the Pentagon’s top lawyer, accusing him of seeking to undermine Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. She has met with senior administration officials — including Vice President JD Vance — and continues to have sway over the president’s online base.
Even so, Trump has at times attempted to distance himself from Loomer, who has a history of promoting far-right conspiracy theories and has described herself as a “proud Islamophobe,” with some Republicans warning that Trump’s ties to the far-right activist could cost him votes in the 2024 election.
In a Friday morning social media post, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche wrote that he worked closely with Patel and Bongino on the memo and that all three officials signed off on the memo’s contents and conclusions.
“The suggestion by anyone that there was any daylight between the FBI and DOJ leadership on this memo’s composition and release is patently false,” Blanche wrote.
The DOJ referred to Blanche’s statement, and the FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Yes. The FBI is part of the Justice Department, so Bongino could be down even further on the ranking order.
AG at top, Deputy or Assistant AG for law enforcement, FBI Director, and then FBI Deputy Director (of which there’s more than one).

Epstein was an FBI informant. That is a provable fact. So there are some things Dan and Patel have access to just from that .

Let us be very clear.
Back in February several of these right wing influencers were invited to visit the White House because of the size of their audience.
They played a critical role in electing President Trump and he thanked them for their support.
They were at the WH for hours and met with a large number of cabinet officials.
The administration takes them very seriously.
At that time Bondi lied to them about how she planned to handle the Epstein matter.
They don’t like being lied to.
Now it is time for the consequences.
Trump doesn’t think so

I know the story.
You can figure out where Bongino ranks by looking at what level of Special Executive Service (SES) he was appointed to.
The role of a Deputy Dirctor is to run the day-to-day operations of the FBI while the Director handles policy and international law matters, in much the same way an Executive Officer runs daily operations on a Navy ship.
You don’t need more that a basic understanding of the FBI and federal law enforcement to know Bongino doesn’t have nearly the span of authority he thought he’d have as a Deputy Director, and he certainly didn’t bring any management skills with him.

I don't get the hate for Bondi - she is doing an outstanding job as Attny General
She has taken control of the government agency most hostile to Trump and completely turned things around
She has brought the DC Democrats law firms to heel and has taken them off the table when it comes to screwing Trump
She has fought the unprecedented legal insurrection by Democrats activist judges and has an almost perfect record of winning - especially in the Supreme Court
Her DOJ and FBI are going after all the Jan 6 and other Democrat dirty trick operations
Her DOJ has drafted well crafted, legally sound Executive Orders for Trump that will stand up to legal challenge
Her DOJ has given President Trump excellent legal guidance on how to implement his aggressive agenda with solid legal foundations
Whatever she is doing with the Epstein affair she is doing at the personal, expressed direction of President Trump
People need to lighten up on Bondi - she is doing an amazing job. She has an almost unbroken streak of big wins for the Trump Admin and she is one of Trumps most successful appointments
