The legislation has been lauded as a "groundbreaking" bill, with an emphasis on taxes, federal spending and government policy that could significantly shape the next generation of the American experience.
President Donald Trump's triumph in passing the "One Big, Beautiful Bill" not only demonstrated he could conquer the often-maddening politics of Congress, he also set the United States on a fundamentally different course when it comes to taxes, government spending and domestic policies like Medicaid and food stamps.
Both chambers of Congress passed the Trump agenda megabill this week, ahead of their July 4 deadline, and it will be signed by the president in a special ceremony on Friday.
The legislation has been lauded as a "groundbreaking" bill, with an emphasis on taxes, federal spending and government policy that could significantly shape the next generation of the American experience.
"There could be no better birthday present for America than the phenomenal victory we achieved just hours ago when Congress passed the one big, beautiful bill to Make America Great Again," Trump said during a speech in Iowa. "With this bill, every major promise I made to the people of Iowa in 2024 became a promise kept.
"The Golden Age of America is upon us," he continued. "I'm telling you, this is going to blow the first term away. And we did great. We got great marks, and this is going to blow it away. This incredible national resurgence is happening just in time for one of the biggest events in history. Tomorrow we celebrate the anniversary of America's family with a perfect party, the likes of which you have never seen before."

All good. However, when do we begin to pay down the unsustainable debt that is crippling our nation? Is either party even capable of fiscal restraint?
The globalists had four years of doing everything they could to colapse the US economy and the US dollar. Trump does not have a magic wand that can force Congress to his will. He is doing what he can, but Job Number One at this point is to head off the collapse, and that’s what his budget is for.
“ However, when do we begin to pay down the unsustainable debt that is crippling our nation?”
We bring in revenue of close to $5 trillion. Outlays are close to $7 trillion. I. Relieve the current deficit is $1.8 trillion. We are $36 trillion in debt. If we switched the numbers around, with a $2 trillion surplus, with interest still accruing it would have take close to 25 years to erase the deficit.
And now you know why Democrats are against tariffs.
And Trump has demonstrated--yet again!--that is staggering intellect, puissance, and sound judgment are healthy and strong.
The re-election of President Trump is one of the greatest events in US history.
There is no way Congress will limit its ability to spend money. They buy their reelection with our money and get rich in the process. Only once in American history has the Federal debt been zero. That was under Andrew Jackson. It should be obvious by now our National Debt is a systemic problem. . Milton Friedman showed that the cure is a Balanced Budget Amendment. Article V is the only way to get that.
If dumb a** Powell will lowers the interest rate, it will effect our debt.
Then there will be the rescission packages. The big thing is making sure everything goes to "pay down the debt".
I think that's the question to ask...."HOW will we pay down the debt?"
I must say...Cabinet wise...We probably have the best, most productive, and knowledgeable cabinet since our country began.
And we have a hell of a lot more on our plate. And if you were a farmer, you weren't rich...but you were self sustaining...with a bit of barter with your neighbor.
Re-arrange the deck chairs.
I couldn’t agree more!
“All good. However, when do we begin to pay down the unsustainable debt that is crippling our nation? Is either party even capable of fiscal restraint?”
In Trump’s first term he nearly eliminated Quantitative Easing and had deficits receding sharply, then the Wuhan Virus.
We battle not only our globalist foes, but their lackeys in DC that share their same worldview and hatred for the U.S.
I do believe that question has been answered many times over.
