A federal district court issued a preliminary injunction against the Trump administration’s attempt to block further disbursement of $5 billion set aside by Congress in 2021 for taxpayer-funded electric vehicle charging stations.
The majority of the plaintiffs — 16 states plus the District of Columbia — had still not completed a single charger funded by the program over the past four years.
The order excluded National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure charger funding for Minnesota, Vermont and the District of Columbia from the order, finding they had not submitted required documentation.
The ruling says that because the funding is allocated according to the federal highway funding formula, and was expressly funded by Congress, that the distribution of money for already-approved plans must proceed.
“The Court finds that, in effectively suspending the NEVI Formula Program, Defendants have overstepped their Constitutional and statutory authority and have attempted to override the express will of Congress,” wrote U.S. District Judge Tana Lin.

Ignore. The. Order.
I DID NOT VOTE FOR THIS!
Why have elections?
Just impose regulations that require all EV chargers to be powered directly from wind or solar. Because global warming and stuff...
Congress allocates the money but the executive branch agencies set standards...save mother erf!
Where the hell does a foreign District “judge” get the standing to order this kind of horse puckey?
RE: Why have elections?
We all decided to give the failing system one last chance.
If we win the fight against the judges, the woke protesters and the evil Dems, then it will be a Trump Golden Age.
One last chance.
In this case don’t blame the courts. Blame Congress. They are the ones that allocated the funding.
Rarely? He has not ignored one of these hacks. Last week the SC struck one down who then defied the SC. Despite having the SC ruling on his side he still capitulated to the hack judge and went hat in hand back to the SC.
What happened to “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
It’s like 2017-18, when they blocked every border fence funding bill and he pretty much had the same reaction, “Darn. Well ... OK, I guess.”
Then the rats trumpeted that fall, 1. No wall? 2. Mexico was supposed to pay for it!,b and took the House, and impeached him, twice. The Rats are going to do the same thing with all his initiatives, that their judges are blocking, in the fall of 2027, the dirty futtocks.
I wish he fought for us as hard as he fights for slavs and Israel.
Easier to require the disbursements to be dribbled out based on the number of actual charging stations created. Minimize the potential for graft that typified the Biden administration handling of funds.
Trump is still in there fighting. Have you seen him give up?
Not every thing is a home run. Look at the fantastic hits Trump has made.

While many people will remember the Babe for his powerful home runs, many people don’t realize that his lifetime batting average was .342. That average would be good enough to win the batting average title more than half of the last 40 years. The Sultan of Swat even had a candy bar named after him which I do not think can be said of any other professional athlete … ever.
Have you ever wondered how the Babe got so good at slamming the baseball? Or how he honed his skills in a way that was unparalleled during his time? What was his secret? Was he just more talented and gifted than all the other players?
I am sure there are many reasons why he did so well. Training, practice, God-given talent, a good eye, etc., etc. And here is one other reason:
In his career he struck out at the plate 1,330 times.

He sghould be able to withhold for non completion of contract- the electric chargign stations have NOT been built- but the money has gone to the companies anywaY-

Bingo. The companies have not performed according to agreement so no more funds will be disbursed.
I’m hoping and praying that SCOTUS issues an opinion tomorrow which knocks down the federal court judges a peg or two. If they don’t the court may as well not go on summer vacation because they are going to be too busy with emergency petitions all summer long to have time go fishing.
What fight? Who on trumps administration of weak incompetent losers is FIGHTING?
I’m a big EV fan (I love new technology). But they only built about (maybe) 6 chargers the whole time. In the mean time, everyone is getting adaptors so they can use the Tesla Superchargers. Do you know that between LA and Las Vegas, Tesla has over 200 chargers available? Among those chargers are pull through ones in case you are towing. We drove from Vegas to South Lake Tahoe across the middle of nowhere Nevada. There are even Tesla Superchargers outside Death Valley (Beatty, Nevada).
Electricity can’t be stopped.
Just do what Biden did. Don’t build any.
Yup me too- the federal judges are out of control
True...
...unless another 'plan' is implemented.
