BLM Affiliate Tells ‘White Folks’ It’s Time to Pay Reparations

A Black Lives Matter (BLM) nonprofit affiliate told “white folks” the time has come Thursday to make good on monetary reparations and enhance its dwindling finances.

The Daily Caller first reported Black Lives Matter Grassroots issued a series of demands for assistance to “our people” and to hold white Americans “accountable” in a press release marking Juneteenth.

Juneteenth events have been scaled back this year due to funding shortfalls as companies and municipalities across the country reconsider their support for diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as AP reported.

The press release defied that dwindling interest and was headlined “JUNETEENTH IS OUR BLACK JUBILEE.” It stated:

White folks…

It’s time to pay reparations. Commit yourselves to real reparations policies that hold accountable the government, white-supremacist capitalism, and white people – who continue to benefit from our generations of stolen labor. Slide your Black friend some benjamins.

Make a check out to Black liberation organizations, like BLM Grassroots. Don’t have money? Wash your neighbor’s car. Watch her kids. Give him a ride. Sweep their front stoop. Do not ask to come to the cookout.

The Daily Caller report notes a May poll from Pew Research Center showed most American adults thought an “increased focus on race” driven by the BLM movement brought no meaningful benefits for black people in the time since George Floyd’s death in 2020.

When are the descendants of the black tribes who lived in the coastal areas of Africa during the slave trade going to be demanded to pay reparations for going into the African interior and kidnapping other blacks and bringing them to the coast for the trade? White people didn’t venture inland too much in those days lest they end up dead. It was other blacks that rounded up their fellow natives.

I'll agree to pay - the amount to be negotiated - if they agree to leave the US and never come back. I don't care where they go.

Actually, it's a good idea for white people. I did legal consulting for over 40 years, often calculating reparations as the result of wrongful death. The purpose of reparations is to leave the plaintiff in a position of financial indifference pre- versus post-event. In the case of slavery, to determine the amount of reparations, one needs to compare the economic position of the plaintiff's today versus what their economic position would be in the absence of slavery. Most of the US slaves came from what is now known as The Congo, Gabon, Ghana, and Nigeria. Now, take the average black wage in each of those countries compared to black wages in the US, then take the present value of that difference for 159 years, and you'll find that each black owes non-blacks in the US a little bit north of $640,000 each.

Any reparations should be followed by forfeiture of their protection as US citizens, and they should be forced to leave and never come back. Americans have already paid the price in blood and treasure to free these people. They complain about America. They agitate for more and they will continue to agitate for more if they are allowed to stay. American citizenship is valuable. Everyone on the planet either wants it or thinks they’re all entitled to take it if the decide to illegally cross our borders.

Our reparations were the blood of Union soldiers.

I think the math yesterday was 1 Union soldier died for every 11 slaves freed.

20% of the men of all ages in the Union fought for their freedom. Basically an entire generation of men picked up arms. 1 fought for every 1.6 slave freed.

And I have no idea what cost the South paid in blood and treasure as punishment for the Democrats’ sin of enslavement. A high price paid by men who also lied to by their Democrat rulers, anyway.
