During the fighting in the Gaza Strip, Israel managed to capture a local Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) agent, who admitted during his interrogation that he had been operating as a double agent.
The agent revealed that his role was to lull Israel’s defense establishment into a false sense of security on the eve of Hamas’s deadly terrorist attack on October 7, 2023.
According to a report published on Channel 12 News on Tuesday evening, the agent lied to Shin Bet officials in a conversation held just hours before the attack.
In that conversation, he stated, “There is no preparation for an offense by Hamas,” despite accumulating warnings and suspicious signs in the preceding hours.
The conversation with the agent, who was considered reliable, created the impression within the defense establishment that there was no real threat. His statements, described as a “weakening signal,” led to a reduced state of preparedness for Hamas’s attack, and no significant additional conversations with other agents took place throughout the night.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Imho, it was a conspiracy to take down Bibi that got way out of hand.
Reminds me of recent MSM narratives re Biden's mentus compus.
“Imho, it was a conspiracy to take down Bibi that got way out of hand.”
Yes, your humble opinion is the actual facts and reality of the situation.
the only thing that is unclear from the article is whether it was a shin-bet employee/agent or a shin bet contact on the ground in gaza.
but yes, the Israeli left/deepstate went way too far. They are on one hand trying to fight to “save” their kubbitznik, secular, socialist ideal while at the same time willing to do anything (and yes i mean ANYTHING) to destroy the country to reach that ideal.
it’s a sick, twisted bizarre mentality.
Sounds like a member of Hamas who was fed to Shin Bet by Hamas’s counter intelligence service. Tactical success, but strategic failure for Hamas, since its entire leadership was wiped out.
Democrat!
Another reason to doubt “palestinan” agents.
Anything to prevent judicial reform.
The jagoff trolls who claim Israel engineered that massacre of Jews will be hardest hit.
“Shin Bet agent from Gaza admits to lying ...”
Like democrats, lying is a given with these people.
Or it could have been a Shin Bet informant who got caught, and Hamas gave him a choice: Either feed Shin Bet our misinformation or you watch while we rape and kill your daughter, son and wife. Then we turn our attention on you.
IMO, it was a conspiracy to give Israel an excuse to invade and annex Gaza.
And much like FDR knew about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor, I'm sure Bibi knew about the impending attack on Gaza.
In both cases, the attack was worse than expected, but the objective (war) was attained.
I don't know why Freepers are so determined to absolve Bibi. He's many things, but he's not stupid. I've read that he has a genius level IQ (over 140). He's also very politically experienced and savvy.

Agree💯
We had a presence in Gaza and forcibly evicted that presence, brutally and completely. Ariel Sharon was many things, but he was not a starry-eyed idealist. He saw that Gaza as a losing proposition, so he threw the “occupiers” on trucks, including the corpses of their dead, and high-tailed out of there.
Now Gaza is suddenly the apple of Bibi’s eye, so that he’d be willing to instigate slaughter of his own people to get it?
You simply have to have your conspiracies. But you’re right. Bibi is not stupid. I’m not a fan of his. He has consistently uprooted young settlements in Judah and Samaria. But now you’ll have him re-settling Gaza? Nonsense. Gaza’s like holding a bear by the tail. You da’sn’t hold on, but you da’sn’t let go. Egypt can have it. They even annexed it after 1948. But now they don’t want it either.
He didn’t know about October 7, because there was a left-wing conspiracy to keep the government in the dark so as to discredit it and Ben Gvir, toppling the government, and thereby put an end to the Judicial Reform program that the leftists had been protesting against, and FDR didn’t know about Pearl Harbor, and he WAS pretty stupid in some ways.
Incidentally, I voted for Ben Gvir’s Otzmah party, and now regret it. He’s a tough-talking blowhard, as expected. I hadn’t expected him to join the government, just be a voice of unreason in the Knesset to keep Bibi from going too far left. In the government he’s demonstrated his uselessness. “Never again” indeed.
It was not supposed to be a slaughter. Like I said, as with Pearl Harbor, they miscalculated the extent of the attack.
Bibi wants Greater Israel. And you can't have that without Gaza.
Also, if Gaza is such a tiger, he'd naturally want to remove that tiger from his doorstep. The process might not be pretty, but it has to be done.
Invade, then try to get some nation to take the Gazans as refugees. Which is what he's been trying to do.
It was not supposed to be a slaughter.
Oh, Hamas was supposed to just kill a few soldiers and citizens, instead of 1,200 and change. You don’t know the first thing about Israeli society. A connection to a conspiracy to even kill just a few, if it had a shred of evidence and a newspaper behind it, would have the mothers of the dead camped outside his doorstep, angrily berating him every time he showed his face in public. Now, however, you have a bunch of ultra-left “advocates” for the families of the hostages, trying to use the hostages as a pretext to shut down the war, which would be the end of this government, which is what they really wanted all along.
“Bibi wants Greater Israel. And you can’t have that without Gaza.”

Not an outlier. Every time he’s been PM, Judah and Samaria loses outposts. Now he’s for a “greater Israel” and he “needs” Gaza to accomplish that. When he ceded all but 3% of Hebron to the PA, that was all part of his evil plan, I suppose.
Please stop flaunting your ignorance.
“Also, if Gaza is such a tiger, he’d naturally want to remove that tiger from his doorstep. The process might not be pretty, but it has to be done.
Bad metaphor. Tigers don’t just go away. There really are conspiracies, but you must be intellegently selective over which theory to believe in every case, and beware of mixing your biases in to solidify into a narrative. Gaza was a conspiracy of the left-wing upper echelons of the IDF and the left-wing bloc of the Knesset. They opposed judicial reform and had rent-a-mobs holding up signs and obstructing traffic. You’re projecting ideas into Bibi’s head that his actions lend no support to. He’s been PM many times over many years, and he has a record of pro-settler rhetoric and anti-settler actions. He doesn’t want a “greater Israel”. There is no evidence to support that, and plenty of evidence to debunk it.
[Or it could have been a Shin Bet informant who got caught, and Hamas gave him a choice: Either feed Shin Bet our misinformation or you watch while we rape and kill your daughter, son and wife. Then we turn our attention on you.]
Good point. The fact that they caught him still in Gaza makes your hypothesis the more likely one.
