Yesenia Lara Gutiérrez of the governing Morena party was gunned down while she was greeting supporters in the small town of Texistepec in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz on Sunday, where she was running for election.
As she walks through the smiling and chanting crowd, gunfire suddenly rings out off camera.
Some 20 gunshots can be heard in the video, which was still up on Gutiérrez’s Facebook page until the following day.
Gutiérrez’s daughter was also killed in the shooting along with two others, while three more were wounded, Veracruz Governor Rocío Nahle García, also from the Morena party of Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, said on Monday.
A mayoral candidate was killed during a campaign spot in a horror shooting captured on video in the southern state of Guerrero in May of last year.
Days later, the mayor of Cotija in Michoacán state was killed as she walked home from a gym with her bodyguard.
The mayor of Guerrero’s capital, Chilpancingo, was decapitated and his head left on his car less than a week after taking office last October.
Less than two weeks ago, Germán Anuar Valencia, also from the governing party, was shot and killed in Veracruz while at his campaign headquarters in the town of Coxquihui in the north of the state.

Hmm... must not have received approval from the local jefe. That’s what you get in a narco-state.

In Mexico, the Deep State comes shallow.

Mexico may have to do the El Salvador Solution. Mexico is way too corrupt to ever go that route.

I hope that President Trump is already tracking and eliminating the Cartel/Mexican creeps. Does not have to announce every dirt napper. Just Get R Done.
I used to work and travel in Mexico. Even with being fluent in Spanish.... No Mas
