George W. Bush Snubs Melania Though She’s Honoring His Mom

Melania Trump is a world-class snubber. She skipped almost every event of Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, only returning to regular political spouse duties late last year, as she had a memoir to plug and a lucrative documentary project to film. Despite suggesting she would be a full-time First Lady in Trump’s second term, she has gone unseen for weeks at a time and even skipped her stepdaughter Tiffany’s baby shower (a People source explained, savagely, that Melania “has her own schedule, even on weekends” and didn’t see “any reason” to attend).

Now Melania is getting a small taste of her own medicine: Former president George W. Bush is skipping an event she is hosting at the White House on Thursday even though it’s about his late mother. Melania is presiding over the unveiling of a postage stamp honoring former First Lady Barbara Bush, wife of former president George H.W. Bush. On Tuesday, the Washington Post reported that W. doesn’t plan to be there and didn’t even offer a plausible excuse:

At one time , George W. Bush was admired, here on Free Republic.

Now he is severely hated here.

At the time of his elections, he was not severely hated, so that’s why so many of us voted for him. The Democrat alternative was not a good choice for us.

Some people say, they regret voting for him. But if you ask them would they really have voted for Al Gore or John Kerry instead, you don’t get a coherent answer.

Yes, it’s stupid for Bush to not attend, but it is extremely stupid to use Melania as one who snubs in the first place.

Speaking of snubbing... remember Mooch who couldn’t be bothered to leave her Hawaiian vacation to honor Carter?

If the election was held today, no one is going to vote for Al Gore or John Kerry instead.

It's like voting for Justin Trudeau or Mark Carney in Canada.

Very disappointed in former President Bush. I really thought he had more class than that.
