Temu on Friday said it has stopped shipments of cheap goods from China to the US as President Trump axed a trade loophole that allowed the fast-fashion giant to sidestep tariffs and customs checks.
Its US website has shifted to offer only what it calls “local” items – or products that were shipped overseas in bulk and stored in US warehouses in a mad dash to beat Trump’s tariffs.
“All sales in the US are now handled by locally based sellers, with orders fulfilled from within the country,” a Temu spokesperson told The Post in a statement. The end of the de minimis exemption is a massive blow to Temu, which is owned by China-based PDD Holdings, and rival Shein, both of which used the loophole to send packages worth less than $800 into the US duty-free.

What will the child slaves be working on now?
The zillion dollar question now is do the American people have the will power to stick with the “I don’t want cheap Chinese crap” talk, or cave to the “I want, I want, I want” walk.
This should help with my drunk shopping.
The US government subsidized this shipping and mailing for China to give US citizens cheap cr-p.
Chinese slaves rejoice!
I remember the stigma of owning a jap radio, or jap anything really, in the ‘60s.
Make it so.
I’ll never put that app on my devices. It was always obviously slave labor related from the word go. Never mind that the CCP tracks all data on Temu. Plus, quality can’t be had at those prices, even with slave labor.
“This should help with my drunk shopping.”
Ditto. My recreational shopping was getting out of hand.
My inbox is going to be empty
Good. Maybe now I won’t see all the ads on every site I’m on.
My wife does all the shopping, so when we run out of money, I can blame her....(just kidding), although she does most of the shopping.
Ali Express also. I used them a lot to buy and sell on eBay. My last shipment should be delivered today.
I bought a few things on Temu but Ali Express was better.
I got phone charger cables for $300 for a braided cable 10 foot long. Try finding that in the US.
Most stuff you get there are the same here but you pay a surcharge to a middleman. I know cause I used to buy stuff there and resale on eBay.
My wife bought me some clothes off of Temu a few months back.
I wear a Large and so that’s what she got. Sheeeit.
We found out they meant Large for a Chinaman.
Perfectly fine for a 125 pound 5’4” Chinese man.
I’m glad Temu with it’s CCP crap is going away.
And this is indeed cheap China crap. Everything I bought from Temu went in the garbage
Oh Dear, my Free pallet was just about to be shipped!
Whatever the free traitors can still buy from them.
“ The US government subsidized this shipping and mailing for China to give US citizens cheap cr-p.”
Are we taxpayers still subsidizing the postage ? It (once?) cost less to mail a small item from China to to the USA than it did to mail that same package from one place in the USA to another. This was a vestige of the time when China was a starving Third World country.
Gonna have to let the tariffs work for at least 6 months before the excess local inventory is sold off.
I have bought a lot of stuff from AliExpress, my last items are due tomorrow.. just 3 industrial control devices.
I buy lots of electronic parts from a supplier in Thailand, great prices and I get them in 48hrs via Fedex at a very low shipping cost. I hope they still are able to ship parts at a reasonable price. https://www.taydaelectronics.com/
