Woodward: Trump ‘Throwing Bombs of Ignorance’ on the Economy
Breitbart ^ | 04/21/2025 | Pam Key

Posted on 04/22/2025 5:47:34 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Veteran reporter Bob Woodward said Monday on MSNBC’s “Inside” that President Donald Trump is “throwing bombs of ignorance” onto the U.S. economy.

Woodward said, “He thinks tariffs are good remedy. Well tariffs are a tax on consumers. I mean consumers wind up paying. There may be some benefit but if there was real benefit we’d feel it in the economy now. And we basically have a good economy that he’s meddling with in a way, throwing bombs of ignorance right in the middle of a process that, you know, should be allowed to go on naturally. It’s a shame and it has a real impact on people. It’s not just the stock market, but it has an impact on prices. It has an impact on the stability that people feel in their own lives and in the institutions.”

He continued, “In the Trump who makes decisions, there’s no coherence. There’s no plan. It’s very random. I feel that, I mean, we see it daily. And he is now on a vengeance tour of, you know, people who’ve worked for him or have not worked for him, people he doesn’t like or thinks he doesn’t like. I mean, the using executive orders to attack people as he has by name and institutions.”

Bob expects instant results. It takes time for manufacturing and the energy industry to build up momentum.

Well, not at first, because plenty of necessities (e.g. pharmaceuticals) have no domestic sources. To get out of this trap, some financial pain has to be endured during the transition.

~~~
The ballyhoo of someone who could basically bring down a president with the pen by the media is bigger than the story that did it.
I believe it helped create the activist crusader mindset that you witness by Donaldson/Mapes when they were abetting fraud. It was all for the same goal, and these are the kind of people who would sit on any story that was negative for a sitting Democrat president, such as a cognitively compromised puppet for that party.
They can’t just shut up and not reveal their stripes in order to preserve any semblance of credibility. They can’t control their impulses, such as commenting on economics like you are expert when you feel compelled to attack.
Honestly, who knows more about Business and the economy, Bob Woodward or Donald Trump?
I don’t even think liberals will take long to consider that.
Yes that’s right. The NAFTA manufacturing drain will take years stop reverse. It’s for our grandchildren. It’s mind-boggling that we got to this point where so many things have to be imported when they could be made here.
Tariffs are a tax on foreign countries that are negotiated between the companies and their countries. Very little hits the American consumer. Is it ok for other countries to have tariffs?
I thought taxes were good Bob.
Not only that, these tariffs are "Taxes on the RICH!" - The RICH can afford Mercedes, BMWs, Audis, etc. which are foreign made.
Us Po-Folks can only afford Chevys, Fords and the like which are made in the US, or they will be soon.
