WASHINGTON (AP) — A female Army Ranger for the first time competed in the annual Best Ranger Competition, and her two-soldier team finished the grueling three-day event over the weekend and came in 14th overall.
First Lt. Gabrielle White, and her teammate, Capt. Seth Deltenre, were among the 16 teams that made it through the final events, where Ranger teams compete for accolades as the best of the elite military force. All together, 52 teams competed and all of the others were made up of only male soldiers.
The two Rangers on the winning team were 1st Lt. Griff Hokanson and 1st Lt. Kevin Moore — both are members of the 75th Ranger Regiment. White and Deltenre are based at the Army Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, Georgia.
Female soldiers were not allowed to be Army Rangers until 2015, when the Army opened Ranger school to women. In August 2015, two female soldiers completed the Ranger course for the first time. Later that year, the Defense Department opened all combat jobs to women.
Until this year, no female soldiers had entered the Best Ranger Competition at Fort Benning. Soldiers participating must all be Army Rangers, and they compete in more than 30 events.
According to the competition, soldiers must move more than 60 miles during the three days, with little rest. It includes helicopter missions, physical fitness tests, land navigation, weapons qualification, obstacle course and other tests.

Agree
Be all you can be isn’t a motto it a way of life.
....assuming she got no special treatment during the competition....
That’s not a safe assumption to make. The armed forces have always dumbed down physical training standards as part of their DIE agenda.
What if her teammate had been a female?
Female soldiers, policemen, firemen endanger themselves and their male co-workers as men will typically lookout to protect the women endangering those around them. Lot of cop videos where the female is getting their @$$ handed to them until a male officer shows up.
Everyone in the theater cheered when Scarlett shot the Yankee deserter. Understandable; she did what she had to do to defend herself.
That is far different than experiments deliberately putting women - with full load-out - into front-line combat.
It is an interesting thing that school girls are being forced into locker rooms with men, but our Navy spends billions retrofitting ships so that grown military women are assured of having separate accommodations.
What in the world would make you think she didn't receive special treatment/standards? It's built into the mix.
She probably dragged a top 10 team down to 14th.
The point is what is the use of saying you have the toughest training for male
soldiers if a woman can do it ?
I’m not sure she did or did not. For example, which Physical Fitness Test did she take? The woman’s or what’s been pushed by Hegseth as one standard for warriors.
We’ll have to wait and see what scuttlebutt comes out on the standards imposed on her during the competition.
Which is why my 2nd word was “might”.
Impressive.
For guys who are interested in women who can reach in and pull their guts out with one hand...
A country that routinely sends women into combat is no longer worth fighting for.
They weren’t last

i wanna be an airborne ranger.
i wanna be the best there is.
i wanna lead a life of danger.
Killing commies, that’s my biz.
when i joined i didn’t expect.
the prettiest girl i’d seen by heck.
i gave her cheek a peck.
she almost broke my neck.
she was an airborne ranger.
she was the best there is.
she led a life of danger.
killing commies, that’s her biz.
There are a few Tulsi Gabbards out there....just plain bad asses.
The only reason she finished 14th was because she had a male as her partner.
The Lieutenant is black.
Hmmm...
My tinfoil hat glowed a little bit after reading this...
How can we be sure the soldier isn’t a man identifying as a woman?
