The dirty secret is that Europe wants what belongs to Russia because they do not have what Russia has.
Europe can up their support of Ukraine, stop purchasing Russian gas and oil, and cause Russia to collapse, without the need to conquer it. That is going to cost money, and they will need to restart burning coal for energy needs. Victory has a cost. As big as Russia is, Russia or the Soviet Union lost every war it fought in the 20th century without a notable ally. The Ukrainian war can be won, if Europe pays the cost for victory.

Putin has over 7,000 nukes or more. There is no way in hades that he is going down to the EU. He will set Europe on fire with nukes before he goes down. The Euros would take years to build up enough troops and equipment to fight the Russians. We no longer have over 300,000 troops in Europe and the weapons they had. We no longer have the forces to fight another European war. First, they fought Germany twice, now the Krauts are part of the so-called force that wants to finally take down Russia.
