Sir Keir Starmer has declared a 'coalition of the willing' is ready to enforce a peace deal in Ukraine and help deter future Russian attacks.
The Prime Minister this weekend said those countries signed up to his peacekeeping blueprint would 'intensify' their planning 'with real urgency'.
He added he was ready to commit British 'boots on the ground and planes in the air' as he called on Europe to 'do the heavy lifting' in support of Kyiv.
It follows suggestions that UK troops could form part of a 30,000-strong European peacekeeping force within Ukraine.
RAF Typhoons might also be deployed to help patrol Ukrainian skies, while Royal Navy ships could be sent to the Black Sea to deter another Russian assault.
The frantic rush to develop a peackeeping plan comes amid fears that US President Donald Trump is poised to abandon both Europe and Ukraine.
His administration has told European nations to shoulder greater responsibility for both their own and Ukraine's security.
Mr Trump's stance has prompted speculation that France might deploy nuclear-armed fighter jets to Germany to widen Europe's nuclear shield.
And, despite calls for a US 'backstop' for a peace deal, it has been suggested that American security guarantees might only take the form of a minerals deal with Kyiv.
The UK and France are taking the lead in drafting the peacekeeping plans, but there are doubts over the role that other countries - such as Italy and Poland - might play.
So, as the scramble to draw up a blueprint continues, here's how a peacekeeping plan is shaping up so far...

Europe can do what they want to. Can they scrape up enough troops and planes is the question.
Russia would consider “European troops on the ground and RAF planes in the skies” to be acts of war by the EU and Britain and would respond accordingly, which is what the globalists of the EU and Britain want.
Just so long as the USA is all out.
Permanently.
...Go, ye heroes, go to glory,
Though you die in combat gory,
Ye shall live in song and story.
Go to immortality!
Go to death, and go to slaughter;
Die, and every Cornish daughter
With her tears your grave shall water.
Go, ye heroes, go and die!...
LMAO no you can’t two tier Kier. You military is not even a paper tiger. It is well know your troops are not combat ready, they are to bust being indoctrinated into woke-ism and getting sex changes, your tanks are broke (last report said you had at best 25 working main battle tanks). AND Europe still gets A LOT of oil and gas from Russia so you won’t be keeping your planes in the air.
Stop puffing your chest out, you like silly.
Well, Britain has less than 30,000 operational troops and less than 25 tanks. They barely have a navy, so how many planes do they really have?
Not enough to be a threat to even Argentina at this point. If Argentina tries to take the Falklands (Maldives) again, Britain would not be able to get them back now or do anything about it. They are a paper tiger.
The British invented entangling alliances (e.g., Treaty of London), and they’re not about to stop making new ones.
I imagine its a word game
The UK-Brussels Globalist/socialists are only promising troops in event of a “ceasefire” - but it seems they are working to make sure there is no ceasefire and that Ukraine fights to the last Ukrainian.
Lavrov said his country would not accept peacekeeping forces from Nato countries in Ukraine under any peace deal, a proposal raised at a meeting of European members of Nato in Paris on Monday.

Have at it big mouth!
I understand that the Russian military has not really covered itself in glory over the past few years. But still, a big army that has been actively waging war for years is going to have some basic advantages over a newbie force that hasn’t fought anyone in decades.
The same thing happened to the US after Pearl Harbor. Some of our commanders were not good — we had to get rid of them and find better ones. We made mistakes — we had to recover. The EU forces are small and inexperienced — Russia will not be a pushover, and the western European public is not going to like the losses.
They can send guys on horses with swords into Crimea against tanks and cannons like they did in that Kipling poem.

There are more people crossing our borders every year than there are Russians crossing into Ukraine.Sounds like some Brits hold to a different view than Starmer.....Spgoisern, Chessytown, United Kingdom, 6 hours ago
I think we all would but don't be silly,Kent is in the UK and you know what our leader thinks of the UK and it's indigenous citizens.
What I want to know about is UKs mineral deal with Zelenski....
The trouble is, Russia has already said that NATO countries' troops in Ukraine would be considered an act of war which and may respond with nuclear weapons, of which Russia has plenty.
Those aren’t tanks, those are coconuts.
My guess would be the UK would look to the French if the US leaves.
Russia would have an advantage in such a situation because Putin doesn’t care how much damage he does to Ukraine.
If they are stupid enough to push Putin then they can get nuked without American aid.
