ASPIRE TO A VISION A scene in the movie Karate Kid was quite striking. Daniel went to see Mr. Miyagi and found him trimming a delicate bonsai tree. Daniel was fascinated and wanted to try it, but he had no idea how it was done. Miyagi told him to close his eyes and picture in his mind the way he wanted the tree to look. After Daniel found that vision in his mind, Miyagi told him to open his eyes and start trimming the tree. Daniel's every move was deliberate and focused. Then he stopped. He asked, "How do I know if my picture is right?" Miyagi replied, "If the picture comes from your heart, then it must be right. Just trust your picture".
Changes in our personal attitudes and behavior are difficult. However, change is possible if we aspire to a vision. Moses didn't think of liberating the Israelite slaves in Egypt until his experience with God and the burning bush. Paul didn't believe in Jesus until he received a vision while on his journey to Damascus. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave himself to the Civil Rights Movement because he had a dream of equality. Prayer: Lord, help us vision our changes, and change to achieve our vision for the enrichment of our marriages, our health, and our quality of life. Amen. CAPT Karl K. Fung, CHC, USN

Good evening, luvie, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thanks for the hymns....always enjoyed for their peace.

We have a ways to go before we’re through with cold hits. We can get snow in April.
Maybe you won’t have a cold spell for Easter this year since it’s so late. We might even have a warm Easter this year.

It’s really late this year. Maybe both of us will have a warm weekend for it. Warm. Not hot. Warm. ๐คฃ

I hadn’t paid attention and looked at the calendar when you mentioned Easter. I was surprised to see it’s so late.
We’d better be warm! We’ve had springs that were kinda chilly into May.

Because of Easter being the first Sunday after the first moon of the spring equinox, and it’s late this year. Like you said, it had BETTER be warm by the 20th of April! LOL!

I know how they set the date. I just hadn’t paid attention to this year up til now.
I hope the weather settles down to somewhat normal this year. It’s been screwy the past year.

Good evening, lightman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
And a blessed Transfiguration Sunday aka Quinquagesima (Western)/Forgiveness Sunday (Orthodox).
How is your stove doing? Wood supply?

Good evening, Janey...((HUGS))...Shavua Tov and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Weather good for parachute driving? Or a nice study day?
To: Kathy in Alaska
That’s good. It must not have blown over that far east.
It was initially going way up but once they put most of the fire out, the smoke sank and spread out, the top being just above the trees.
The wind was blowing just right to keep you from choking on it.
The building was some sort of automotive place and must have had a lot of tires. There was a lot of thick, black smoke and rubber smolders for a while. And stinks!

Stove relighted tonight with wood from the “second cord” but hopefully the two night run (Saturday-Sunday + Sunday-Monday) will be the final one of the season!

Good evening, BTerclinger, and Chodesh and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Nice weather in your area? We’ve been unusually warm and almost all the snow is gone. Waiting for the shoe (snow storm) to drop when we least expect it.
To: radu
YUCKY! The wind must have been blowing it away from my side of town. Burning rubber I would have noticed!!

A very pleasant good Sunday morning and ((HUGS)) to everyone at the Canteen and to all our military at home and abroad. Thanks for your service to our country.
We had ribs for supper yesterday.

Yesterday at Comanche Lake:

How's everyone doing this morning?

It sure has been weird. I’m ready for some calm. It’s supposed to be really windy next Tuesday, and since it’s March...and since it’s bone dry...I expect there to be a brown sky that day. Ick. Ahhh...spring in West Texas!

You got lucky! There was visible smoke until well into the afternoon, and the fire started before the sun rose over the mountains.
