Shavua Tov.
Wishing all our Jewish troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
a peaceful and prosperous week.
Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners
for a safe and peaceful week ahead.
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!
Howdy, Kathy.
I hope your day’s going well.
Not very pretty up there today. If it’s going to be cloudy, it would be nice if they’d drop some snow. Y’all need some “wet” or it’s going to be a rough year for fires.
The Marine Who Stole a Killing Technique (And Made It Deadlier)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eU12asSsJw
On the morning of August 17, the Marines of the 2nd Raider Battalion charged through towering Pacific waves toward Makin Atoll. Their mission was clear: sever Japanese defenses, destroy key installations, and vanish before reinforcements could strike back. Packed into rubber boats and clutching their weapons, they were an untested force about to launch their first-ever raid.
The summer of 1942 had been grim for the United States. With defeats piling up and victories scarce, the Raiders aimed to prove America could strike back.
At the Battalion’s helm was Lieutenant Colonel Evans Carlson, a man who believed in more than tactics. He had forged his men into a unit bound by purpose, teamwork, and unity. As the Raiders charged forward into the sand, a single phrase echoed above the roar of the waves: [QUOTE] “Gung Ho!”

Comments below the video:
“Thank you for honoring Carlson’s Raiders.”
“As a Navy “Doc” with 18 years with the Marines, three at Quantico, I loved tis docuvideo. To this day, I would go anywhere, anytime with my Marines. Semper Fi!!”
“58 miles in 32 hours, carrying gear is a fast pace and very hard. Much respect.”
“I have been a Marine since 10 November 1967, but i just learned more about “Gung Ho” than I did in all of my active and active reserve duty. Thank you!”
Hey there, radu!
Are ya down from the cloud we were all on yesterday? Are you having a bit cooler weather today like was predicted?
Ours was very nice. The kitties were pleased. A bit cooler tomorrow, but still in the low 70s. I can handle that. :)
Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Has your weather returned to “nice” instead of cold and blustery?
It was beautiful sunshine when I got out to get gas today.
Howdy, luvie.
Yes, I’ve come down a little bit. I haven’t been laughing all day like I did yesterday. LOL
Definitely cooler and getting cold fast. It was 60 when I woke up but the temp was starting to drop as the cold front was just passing through. It was breezy but now the wind is blowing hard. 37 now and it’s supposed to bottom out in the mid 20s. Tomorrow’s high in the upper 40s and this wind will keep blowing. BRRRRRRR
I’d just about hurt someone for your 70s. LOL
LOL! I’m glad I’m not reachable right now. I don’t wannaaaa get hurt! I can’t believe it’s going to be THAT cold...AGAIN!
I kind of think we’re done with it...but on the other hand, Easter hasn’t gotten here yet. We usually have a cold spell that weekend to mess up the gals getting to enjoy spring dress. LOL!
Hey there, Kathy.
We did have some nice weather but today, that ended when a cold front came through. Cold and very windy now and will be through tomorrow.
There was some sun over by the airports this morning but clouds rolled in a little after noon. Looks like it stayed sunny for a while longer over on your side of town.
Was the air smoky when you went out to get gas? There was a big fire early this morning and smoke was still hanging in the air into the afternoon.
Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Transfiguration Sunday aka Quinquagesima (Western)/Forgiveness Sunday (Orthodox) to all!
For sure...we are experiencing our own kind of drought.
BIG time!
Good evening, ETR, and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Thanks for another good link.
God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.
