Jeff Bezos
@JeffBezos I shared this note with the Washington Post team this morning:
I’m writing to let you know about a change coming to our opinion pages.
We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.
There was a time when a newspaper, especially one that was a local monopoly, might have seen it as a service to bring to the reader’s doorstep every morning a broad-based opinion section that sought to cover all views. Today, the internet does that job.
I am of America and for America, and proud to be so. Our country did not get here by being typical. And a big part of America’s success has been freedom in the economic realm and everywhere else. Freedom is ethical — it minimizes coercion — and practical — it drives creativity, invention, and prosperity.
I offered David Shipley, whom I greatly admire, the opportunity to lead this new chapter. I suggested to him that if the answer wasn’t “hell yes,” then it had to be “no.” After careful consideration, David decided to step away. This is a significant shift, it won’t be easy, and it will require 100% commitment — I respect his decision. We’ll be searching for a new Opinion Editor to own this new direction.
I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion. I’m excited for us together to fill that void.

two pillars: personal liberties and free markets.
not the same definition you and I have.
They have retreated back to personal liberties for their perversion.................
Bezos might be just sensing which way the wind is blowing, but, it’s a good move.
The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a personal liberty.
Start telling the public that all gun control is unconstitutional. All of it.
“I am of America and for America”.
"A truth that's told with bad intent, Beats all the lies you can invent."
William Blake
Something to keep in mind.
Even the soulless Bezos know which way the wind blows.
Pendulums are a’swingin...
Good words, but actions still speak louder than words. Let’s see how their opinion page looks in a few weeks/months.
I hope he includes “free speech” within “personal liberties.” He needs to clarify that.
I applaud Bezos for doing this.
(knows)
I admire Bezo’s business genius but I have not admired his politics and support of DAILY radical left attacks on the very heart of America in his rag of a newspaper.
So, this “writing” of his is a little belated and hollow to me.
Individual Liberty, Economic Freedom.
Truth Beauty and Goodness
Simply back to basics.
The public hates our government and its hoards of couch riding bureaucrats. All the federal judges, media hacks full of leftist rage, and hen killing regulators in the world, just makes us hate them more.
I do to. I sense that there is a lot of Americanism starting to go around. U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A!
Notice that David Shipley quit rather than be an American...............
Absent any Moral (Biblical) Absolutes,
it degenerates to a rule and nation of men, not Law.
If this country is to survive it’s going to take everyone pulling in the same direction. Looks like the more intelligent billionaires have figured it out.
Add adherents to the constitution as a third pillar and I am right with him. Hell yes. You can want the constitution changed. You can disagree with the current interpretations of the constitution. But the rule of law which emanates from the constitution needs to be respected. The crimes and treasons from the last administration are vast. And they should not go unpunished, nor ignored. Turn the other cheek, is to allow these crimes to have prescience in tradition. We can’t allow that to happen.
Share your note in the envelope with their termination letters. You made the beasts. You put the beasts down.
