Vice President Vance argued that it’s too early for President Trump to name his successor, after Trump declined to endorse his No. 2 as the Republican nominee in 2028.
Vance, in an interview with the Daily Mail, laughed off questions over the president saying he wouldn’t name the vice president as his pick to succeed him.
“I think he said exactly what he should have said, which is, ‘It’s too early,’” Vance said, adding that he isn’t focused on politics.
“There will be a time to focus on politics, of course — [like] the midterms. … So let’s do a good job and then worry about the midterms,” the former Ohio senator continued. “And then we’ll worry about presidential politics at the appropriate time.”

Say nothing until after 2026. We have work to do, focus on that. Plus, less time for dims to do their caterwauling.
MSM is trying every angle they can think of to cause trouble.
Shows how out of options they are, and how desperate.
He got burned with Mike Pence.
He’s right. Trump is correct in that you always want the trainee to believe he still has a lot to prove in order to qualify for promotion or even just keeping the job he’s got.
There will be no ‘It’s his turn, now” in the Trump Admin.
Trump probably learned the wisdom of this stance, while raising his sons. His daughters, on the other hand, seem to have been a little more spoiled and catered to.
That’s typical of many fathers.
It’s four more years. This is some real dumb butt crap. I imagine Trump his going to “endorse” Kamawala Harris one hundred times between now and 2028. He’s a real joker and loves to prank the liberals and their toads in the “media”.
Not only is it too early to endorse Vance, endorsing anyone at this point would create a chilling effect between Trump and other possible contenders. Think about it. If Trump endorsed Vance today, how would that effect Trump’s relations with DeSantis, Younkin or any other Republicans eyeing a 2028 run? Trump has built a broad coalition of Republicans. He needs everyone on board. Choosing someone to endorse at this point would be counter-productive.
Is this Schrill from the Hill in response to the joke Trump was making last week with US governors saying one of them may be the next president? (Haha)
Exactly, they have already demo’d the kitchen and thrown everything at President Trump.
The uniparty media is at the stage where they are throwing poop and dirt in the air hoping anything will stick, they flailing frantically
I don’t see it repeating, but Judas Pence was the worst.
Certifying the 2020 fraud?
Pence has solidified his position in history as one of the worst turncoat backstabbers to have ever lived.
Asking a President being asked to endorse his replacement when the President just now took office?
Neve seen that before — almost as if it is a not-so-veiled threat.
Still, every time I see Vance say something, I am impressed, and this is no exception. He’s looking like 48 if this keeps up.
Vance has already shown he exceeds Mike 20 Pence. Granted that’s not hard. JD has so far been an excellent choice. I was on the fence when he was originally picked, due to my lack of information on him.
Pius Pence and his 30 pieces of silver
The Hill
Their only hope is to wait it out. They’re going to be very disappointed I expect
I would have loved to see Biden come out and endorse Harris at this time.
The “press” would have taken it oh, so seriously.
It’s called “keeping your options open”. Tipping your hand or telegraphing some kind of “tell” on future actins simply is not Trump’s style. He like to keep those who would take umbrage or simply be defiant of most anything he says off balance, and frankly, just a little afraid of him.
“Loose cannon” Trump may be, but a tightly nuanced and planned-out one. All shall be revealed in time.
One month in and he’s supposed to endorse anybody?! For anything?!
The Hill: “Let’s you and him fight.”
They asked Trump this before the inauguration.
It’s an attempt to make Trump look like a lame duck president before he even took office.
