Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) broke with President Trump over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday and advised against a public spat between the two leaders.
“Are you disturbed at all by the rhetoric coming from the Trump administration about Zelensky?” ABC News’s Martha Raddatz asked Lawler on “This Week.”
“I did not agree with the president’s rhetoric about … Zelensky. What I would say is this, it is not — it does not behoove either side to have this public back-and-forth,” Lawler responded.

Perhaps I don’t see completely clearly, but it appears to me that Trump is very much in the ascendant right now and the Democrats are lost and confused and without either a message or a credible leader. For any Republican at this moment to stand up and voice disapproval with Trump is a gross mis-step on their part and likely a confession that they are a bought and paid for traitor.

Kind of like how other media outlets will say “far right” but not “far left” and will call some politicians in Europe “fascists” or “Nationalists” but won’t call their opposition “Globalists” or “communists.”

The exception would be if one side is just being impossible and trying to sabotage the negotiations, and but if that was the case I think it's ok to publicly call them out on it.

None of this is going to matter. Only the Budget upcoming with Debt Ceiling will decide anything.
And this Swamp filth is going to vote whatever way his 7 point 2024 win suggests will get him a governor primary win in a deep blue state.
I’m surprised. He won with 57 percent of the vote. If it were a close vote, maybe it’d be a smart move to get reelected next year. But it seems like a pretty safe seat.
