Northern Command has conducted over two dozen surveillance flights over the U.S.-Mexico border using a slate of different aircraft, including RC-125 Rivet Joints, U-2s, P-8s and drones, a senior U.S. military official told the Times. The administration has not authorized the CIA to use the drones for lethal airstrikes, with the aircraft only being used to help Mexican authorities locate and dismantle drug operations within their territory.

The CIA drones have reportedly proven successful at locating the labs, with chemicals emitted into the air by fentanyl production being easy to spot from the sky. The agency declined to comment on the matter.

Maybe they can do something useful.
Probably not. Probably just picking winners who bribe them.
But a guy can dream.
I think those days are behind us, at least for four years.
But remember: Drugs from South America are the CIA's most profitable money supply.
“The CIA drones have reportedly proven successful at locating the labs,”
Like they didn’t know already. This is a farce. The CIA should be treated like their cartel buddies.
They located them because they built them and profit from them.
BLOW IT ALL UP.

taking out their competition?
Are they actually working for our side or protecting the cartels? Hard to believe they’re on our side.
This could explain what the drones were doing in our country, possibly testing the ability to detect chemicals in air and determine location.
Is the Deep State going to take down the Deep State’s gravy train?
Clowns are just looking to take out the middle man in their drug-running ops.
This action I support 100%.
Jdam the mofos!!!
Last night a P-8 flew from Jacksonville and did at least two trips right along the border. It did some circles south of Laughlin AFB. They’re not doing this for nothing. I’ve heard many times that there are places on our side of the border controlled by the cartels. I wonder if they’re not trying to pinpoint exactly where they are.
Proof of the pudding will be a dramatic decline in fentanyl deaths in the United States.
That would be one important data point.
If we provide the Mexican government with the location and proof of these targets, but they do not act on it, what is the next step?
Would like to see some rules of engagement (assuming it doesn’t exist now) that would allow an immediate air strike under certain circumstances (e.g., location is isolated, indisputable evidence, etc.). Perhaps having an authorized Mexican official watching live video, might enable this to happen.
Good to see the CIA repurposed and doing something useful on behalf of the American people.
its 4:30 pm and there is a U2 flying around near the border out of edwards, per flightradar24.. ummmm
