With the Trudeau Liberals failing to address Americans' concerns about border security, Alberta premier is the only leader in Canada who recognizes what Trump's tariff threat is about.

With the Trudeau Liberals failing to address Americans' concerns about border security, Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter tells The Ezra Levant Show that the Alberta premier is the only leader in Canada who recognizes what Trump's tariff threat is about.( See video at thread article link)

With tariffs set to begin on Saturday, Canada could quickly find itself embroiled in a trade war with the United States. The White House confirmed the policy would begin this weekend, refuting an earlier report from Reuters that suggested the measure could be delayed until March 1.

As the country braces for the impact the tariffs might cause, Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter joined Thursday night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show for a look at how we've gotten to this point and what happens next.

Focusing on Premier Danielle Smith's attempt to foster positive relationships with U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump himself, Lorne explained how the demands from the U.S. are putting pressure on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's government.

The U.S. knows Canada has a problem with border security, Lorne said, “and the Liberals have been very unwilling to deal with it for a number of reasons.”

In addition to border security not fitting the Liberals' woke agenda, the government would “have to admit that their criminal justice policies are wrong, that their immigration policies are wrong.” Even the Liberals' reconciliation policy could face scrutiny, given the shared border with First Nations groups and the U.S.

“They have not, for years, dealt with any of the Americans' concerns.”

The Alberta premier, however, is at least trying to assuage these fears. “Danielle Smith is the only one of the leaders in Canada who has recognized that (border security) is what this is all about. And so, let's deal with the core of (Trump's) concerns and if he still imposes tariffs, then that's fine.”

I do not rule out a military annexation of Canada by Trump. Why tolerate a whole country failing to be secure against Russia, China and Iran from the Canadian North? These agressors are already constructing military bases in South America.

I am cheering Trump on to Attain Canada Safety Again

ACSA Trudeau !

You assume Canada is worth annexing.

Perhaps it is not. The country is a socialist disaster that is largely populated by foreign migrant trash that couldn’t make it in to America. The population change from good guys to Asian trash is in the cities. We do not want nor do we need such human detritus

As I keep saying, if I were Canadian I would vote for Danielle Smith before Pierre Poilievre. Danielle is MAGA.

What Trump’s Tarrifs on Canada are all about.

And Trudeau is leading Canada astray......AGAIN....using Cloward Priven strategy to self aggrandize a return to Liberal Leadership, and conveniently wrapping himself in the Flag of Canada.....history shows he is hardly a patriot to Canada....his patriotism is with the WEF, KLaus Schwab and the DAVOS crowd.Trudeau thinks he has conducted a mini coup
withlut Cabada knowing..WE CALL IT OUT HERE.

Because Trudeau is NOT addressing Trump’s concerns on security, I do not rule out a military intervention or even an annexation of Canada by the United States.

The Canadian dollar will go WAY south against the USD , now trading at 1 USD = !.40 CD. Trump will close his Northern Border if necessary and you may eventually see a US Marine Division in Ottawa.

Undesirable aliens coming to Canada pretty much would have to fly in.

What changes would the US like to see to block those aliens?

Canada traditionally has had higher standards for alien admission than the USA.

Common sense
It is alot easier for Canada to control its immigration, due to access; than it would be for US to build a 3000 mile fence

Yes it would...But who cares?

We wear the White Hats of Liberty and Freedom from DAVOS woke agenda.

You have to remember what Trudeau did to the Freedom Convoy, a populist movement using the Emergency War Measures act, seizing theor donations on line by declaring them terrorists, and destroying a genuine political movement?

And now you think Trump would be as bad a Putin? Hardly. Putin is the Prime Minister of Canada.

Now Trudeau will be taken to the wood shed of Liberty.

Annexation of Canada, Greenland and a reset on the Panama canal.

I am cheering Trump on.

I do not rule out a military intervention or even an annexation of Canada by the United States.

You seriously want to sent US soldiers to die for Canada? Ditto for Panama Canal? Greenland? If that happens, a lot of people (including me) will hop off of the Trump train. Now stop talking nonsense!

All Canada has to do is to guard the border properly and the tariff will go away.
Most Canadian officials are pretending not to understand this. Very strange.

For anyone against this, I guess you were OK with the pre-Trump tariffs.

Here’s an overview based on the available information:

High Tariffs on Agricultural Products: Canada had notably high tariffs on U.S. agricultural products such as dairy (ranging from 245% to 298%), poultry (238%), and eggs (163%). Other items like butter (298%), cheese (245%), and peanut butter (295%) also faced significant tariffs.

Other Notable Tariffs: There were also substantial tariffs on U.S. fish products (100%), tobacco (100%), consumer goods (30%), and lumber (20%).

I think we can all rule that one out, but the thing that struck me was something that came out in a recent press conference: Trudeau has not called or tried to communicate directly with Trump in any way to be able to negotiate this.

Instead Trudeau and the Marxist Mexican seem to be forming an anti-American alliance.

No way, Trump’s got an entire country full of problems to save. He doesn’t need any more headaches.
Russia is broke, they’re not going to start a foreign war.
China wants the South China Sea, they’re not coming for Canada.

What you get when you allow your Deep State to pick your candidates for you...

Canadian PM candidate Chrystia Freeland says Canadians are super “hurt” by the new tariffs, begs Americans to “just cut it out.” Lmao.
