The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) appeared to try and avoid Donald Trump's anti-DEI executive order by switching the job title of its Chief Diversity Officer.
On Tuesday, Trump's administration ordered federal agencies to place all DEI hires on paid leave, and warned authorities not to use 'coded or imprecise language' to circumvent the move.
But within a day of the order being announced, eagle-eyed online sleuths noticed the ATF's Chief Diversity Officer Lisa T. Boykin had a new job role, appearing to have been updated to 'Senior Executive.'
The ATF did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the claim it tried to go around Trump's executive order.
The move came after Trump signed an executive order on Monday within hours of being sworn-in that aimed to eradicate all DEI programs within the federal government.
The next day, the White House released a memo to federal agencies ordering them to not only place all DEI hires on paid leave by 5pm Wednesday, but to quickly form plans to fire every one of them.
In a letter first obtained by CBS News, the agencies were ordered to 'take prompt actions' against all DEI departments, with all employees warned to report 'any efforts to disguise these programs by using coded or imprecise language' - or risk 'adverse consequences.'
Monday's order was one of a raft of executive orders Trump moved quickly on, also including withdrawing the US from the World Health Organization, ordering all federal employees return to in-person work, and rescinding 78 Biden-era executive orders.

This is one of the oldest tricks in DC. They don’t eliminate a bureau, they just change the bronze plack on the front door.
Civil Service people are pretty well protected — but I believe insubordination is one of the things that can get them fired. This was insubordination and it involved all the people above this DEI person. Thin the ranks.
Don’t eliminate the ATF yet, keep ten or so employees to process Tax Stamps until congress repeals the NFA. Add a proviso that all applications must be approved if delayed more than two weeks. No need for anything more involved than an “Instant check.”

In most government, probably. But usually the tactic is used to get rid of somebody — change position title, and revise Skills and Qualifications which the incumbent doesn’t have. So the employee is gone.
In this case it seems to be the opposite — manipulate the position in order to keep a POC employee.
Disband the BATF and prosecute those who have abused their power - they won’t be hard to find.

It’s going to take awhile to purge this shxt out of government. The good news is a quick scan for new positions under the current hiring freeze plus the Internet sleuths like these folks that called this out.
Fire every single one of those who conspired against our country and President to commit this fraud. Confiscate all of their pensions and deny them unemployment.
Real simple:
Grab the personnel records. Extract the names of everyone who had been in the diversity office prior to Trump taking office. Fire everyone on the list.
If obstructed, fire everyone at the agency, period. Raze the buildings, and spread salt on the earth where they stood.

Not the best time to circumvent the policies of the boss. I mean this has to be one of the stupidest things you could do. But this is the BATF so stupid is right up their alley.

The order was posted on Fox News and other places. They are to report the names and titles of every DEI person AS of Nov 5th, 2024. They seemed to have thought of everything. I was shocked. At least one person on Trumps staff who wrote that order knows what they are doing and knows how things work in any work place, especially the gummint. Putting everyone on leave but the supervisors means all the reporting requirements are to be done themselves because as of 5pm on Wednesday, all the staff are gone. Assuming no management is bargaining, they can be whacked at anytime and have no one to point fingers if ignorance. The instructions are very explicit and any violation then provides the administration with probable cause to fire them too, I.e. insubordination. They have to know that none of these people are going to voluntarily cut their own and their subordinates throats, but I see little wiggle room in their directives

Less paperwork would be easier. Have the IT Department fork over the Org Charts that existed Nov. 1, 2024 or Jan. 1, 2025. They must exist on the mainframe.
