CNN’s Kyung Lah talks to members of an extended family who all live in Altadena, California, and who say they feel helpless about what to do next after losing their homes in the wildfires.

Question #1 - Why is FEMA telling people their claims for assistance are denied? Why are people having to reapply?
Question #2 - Why are banks telling victims they need to make their mortgage payments on destroyed buildings? Why aren't they offering a grace period?
Question #3 - THe news media is focused on the stars and their expensive mansions, but that's only part of the story. What can be done for traumatized working class folks such as this family right now?
The aftermath.
#3- TPTB have always only cared about the stars and the wealthy.
The rest of us DO NOT MATTER.
Just like Laihaina, BlackRock is there to buy it all up for pennies on the dollar.
Almost like a plan.
Why did insurance companies cancel (CA) policies just months before this fire?
Why are folks in NC STILL living in tents with freezing weather happening?
Just like Laihaina, BlackRock is there to buy it all up for pennies on the dollar.
Almost like a plan.
Mel (and, I :) agree ... vid, at link ...
Mel Gibson drops a bombshell on Fox News, accusing the California state government of possibly starting the fires on purpose.
Gibson says he knows the State of California was messing with the water supply of Los Angeles before the fires started.

There really should be a law that mortgage payments are paused on a mortgage for 6 months after a total home loss in a federal or state disaster zone. The lost interest payments can be added to the principle of the loan. It would protect both the bank and the borrower.
Also, they stopped maintaining the firebreaks and let them get full of flammable biomass.
There are J6 political prisoners who have nowhere to go after Trump’s frees them in a few days. Lara Loomer apparently has an organization set up to help house them.
They cancelled the insurance because California prevented them from raising their rates. They didn’t want to operate at a loss.
Watch for questions about ‘lithium batteries’ when the investigations start.
Where to go? If you are a die hard Fascist Demoncrat, and wish to stay in California, go squat on Newscum’s mansion. If you desire to leave the state, move to NY or other Red State so as not to incur culture shock.
Not only did they cancel insurance coverage, in our case, they increased our rates from $100 a month to $600 a month with no explanation. We live in Northern California and are nowhere near a catastrophic fire zone. There are orchards and rice farms and other agricultural fields nearby but nothing like the canyons and mountains like they have in SoCal.
“There really should be a law that mortgage payments are paused on a mortgage for 6 months after a total home loss in a federal or state disaster zone. ”
Lenders will work with homeowners in this situation.
Lotta lawyers are gonna get A LOT richer!
Insanity.
Sounds like you might be near the area where we had family, years ago.
Lots of orchards and rice farms.
Not when the value of the empty lot exceeds the value of the mortgage they won't. The lender will squeeze the destitute and homeless homeowner until they can foreclose on the property and make a windfall.
It’s all part of the plan. The land was expensive and TPTB want it for cheap. Time to put the squeeze on the rightful owners to get them off. Deny them insurance, Deny them grace periods for mortgage pymts. And deny them FEMA help. We’ll give you 5 cents on the dollar and time for you to move on.
