Biden says federal government to cover 100% of costs for initial LA fire recovery

President Joe Biden on Thursday announced the federal government would cover 100% of costs for the initial disaster response to the Los Angeles wildfires.

Meeting with federal officials at the White House, Biden said the funds would go toward debris removal, temporary shelters, salaries for first responders and more for 180 days.

Biden said he emphasized to California officials they should "spare no expense to do what they need to do."

He also had a message for residents impacted by the ravaging fires: "We are with you. We are not going anywhere. To the firefighters and first responders, you are heroes."

"The cost of the debris cleanup is gigantic, gigantic. The cost of replacing the housing is almost exponential," he continued. "Anybody can give you a number now, they have no idea what they're talking about. It's big, big, big."

Pre-emptive Pardons for EVERYONE...

And taxpayers across the nation will fund the Illegals, and now the Hollywood Celebs.....

Is this a great country, or what? (Forget about the people in NC, who are still living in tents with no electricity or food, or water, etc.)

He said that about the bridge in Baltimore as well. I don’ think it happened. And it’s a, “What, me worry?” situation. Not his problem, passing it on to President Trump to honor promise.

The debris cleanup assistance is typically done by the Federal government through FEMA grants to local and state governments. Private property owners are usually responsible for getting the debris off their property, onto the curb or designated area for removal.

I object. Idiot states suffering the predictable consequences of their own stupid policies and ideas should not be a matter requiring the taxpayers in sane states to pay for.

This is an announcement, not a contract, nor grant, nor coming from the entity which appropriates funds.

It is an attempt to bind incoming President Trump to ""spare no expense." It will not fly fiscally nor politically.

In other words, it's a trap.

Where is the money coming from your jerk. It needs to go to NC and TN first, remember we were told you were out of money for disaster response.

This 2 tiered system has to stop, I am against any funds going to CA for this until NC and TN are fully funded and recovered. CA is not better than the people in NC and TN. Literally FEMA just cut housing aid to people NC during this could spell.

FEMA is paying for the debris removal in the hurricane areas too. That part is pretty standard procedure in big disasters. FEMA grants local or state government money to perform the cleanup as part of the disaster assistance package.

Does all this $$$$$ include compensation to Hunter Biden for losing his substantial “stash” in the fire?

Biden is all hat and no cattle.

Trump WILL help, have no doubt of that, but it won’t be free money. There will be conditions TO FIX THE PROBLEM. Trumps name will be on the checks.

Disgusting giving mostly rich elites in Californication disaster money while the Carolinas still haven’t gotten housing if is wasn’t for the hard work of the Amish, neighbors, and charities.
