A poll recently conducted by the Angus Reid Institute has shown that the Liberals have fallen to third place nationally.
The Conservatives, meanwhile, have risen even closer to 50%.
According to the poll, 45% of Canadians expressed an intention to vote for Pierre Poilievre's Conservatives, up 2% since the survey was last sent out. The NDP under Jagmeet Singh gained 1% support, bringing their total to 21%. With Justin Trudeau at the helm, the Liberals lost five points, coming in at just 16%.
The Conservatives saw their support grow or remain stable in every region of the country, save for Alberta and Ontario, where it went down by 1%. In British Columbia, support for the party went up by 10%.
The Liberals were down across the board, suffering their greatest losses in Quebec, -8%, and British Columbia, -6%.
In a press release, the Angus Reid Institute explained that the Liberals' results were "the lowest level of support for the party" it had reported since 2014, and "quite possibly the lowest vote intention the Liberals have ever received in the modern era."
Among those who voted Liberal in 2021, only 7% said they "strongly approve" of Trudeau's performance. A further 39% said they "moderately approve."A full 25% said they now "strongly disapprove of the leader of the party that had their support last time around.
Among all voters, Trudeau's popularity fell to 22%, the lowest in his tenure as prime minister.
The poll was conducted between December 27 and 30, 2024 among a representative randomized sample of 2,261 Canadian adults, all of whom were members of the Angus Reid Forum.
Justin Castro is sinking
Isn’t Kamala more Kanadian than AmeriKan?
She should relocate to Montreal and run as Justine’s vice-premier. Might just reenergize her political portfolio in time for 2028 or 2032.
RE: Justin Castro is sinking
Isn’t he also known as FIDELITO?
Dont even joke! :)
I just happened to be at a party over the weekend and as it happened, there were quite a few Canadian Indians there. I mentioned Jagmeet to them trying to get a sense of how they might vote. I couldn’t get over just how disgusted they were with him.... and it sounded like they were all going to vote for Poilievre.
What are they so upset with him about? I have to admit I’m puzzled by why Canada has suddenly turned on him.
Pierre rocks.
He has constantly been a low-’favourability’ leader who relied on coalition support for his position.
The Ottawa trucker protests killed off most of the lingering support he might have had. He might not even win support in a race for governor of his home state (if it ever gets annexed into the new USA).
Plus the carbon tax and net zero BS.
What are they so upset with him about?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seemed to me that it was because Jagmeet has said some really stupid stuff and by extension, he has made them look bad. They also are convinced that Jagmeet only propped up the guvmint long enough to qualify for the premium pension...
Conditions obviously but also 9 years as PM no matter who you are people just get sick of you eventually.
You must really hate Canaduh to suggest that.
“Plus the carbon tax and net zero BS.”
Will the Progressive Conservatives undo any of it? It seems the conservative parties in the west never undo what the leftists have done, and WTH is a Progressive Conservative?
It really is striking how much evidence there is that points towards him being Castro son. Just the photos alone raise huge questions, and then when you look at the timeline of his mother going to Cuba and her close relationship with Castro, yeah….. old Mr. Trudeau is a cuckold of epic proportions
It wasn’t a serious suggestion :)
To think that Kamala’s name on a ticket could help anybody is beyond logical. Justine is beyond saving so let the two of them get relegated to the dustbin of history together. - Sort of a buy one take one deal.
(BTW: I was born in Gordie Howe country.)
NDP is left, a Google search if to be believed indicates they are to the left of the liberal party. No surprise they are primarily the Frenchies in and around Quebec.
They want to become the 51st state,
” I have to admit I’m puzzled by why Canada has suddenly turned on him.”
Trump is the answer to that riddle.
