Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), former chair of the House Jan. 6 committee, said Thursday that he would accept a preemptive pardon from President Joe Biden out of fear that President-elect Donald Trump might target him with a criminal investigation, USA Today reports.

Honestly, this is getting ridiculous in many ways.
But then, if they want to be on the pardon list,
We the People can seek a FOAI request for information.
In a very dangerous way they may be inadvertently putting themselves on a list. There are still large swaths of people who believe the 2020 election was a fraud.
I think it would still be unwise to ‘out’ yourself and be perceived as unaccountable. Both sides have their share of nutcases and zealots.
In Trump’s first term he left Hillary alone. I would expect the same surrounding much of the J6, other than pardoning those in prison/jail now.
On the other hand, the left is doing everything they can to trigger civil unrest. And such pardons might be the last straw for some of the nutcases. A blanket pardon, pre-emptive and the like feels more like a trap than anything needed.
If they are pardoned, they lose 5th Amendment rights and can be forced to testify. Then they can spill the beans or be found in contempt.

You cannot be pardoned if you haven’t been charged and sentenced for a specific crime.

They destroyed all the evidence they collected that exonerated innocent victims of their evil plan. That’s a serious crime and he needs a pardon.
