New Jersey Rep WALKS OUT on DHS drones briefing: ‘Amateur hour … They don’t know anything!’

Enter New Jersey State Rep. Brian Bergen who attended a Department of Homeland Security meeting eager for some answers, or even possibly a plan of action, but said he came away with neither. After an hour of frustrating nothing burgers, he saw the writing on the wall and walked out.

“I walked out because it was worthless,” Bergen began. “It was the biggest amateur hour presentation I’ve ever seen about anything, ok? It was ridiculous, there were no answers.”

“They don’t know where the drones are coming from, they don’t know who’s doing it, they don’t know why they’re doing it, but they say there’s no credible threat,” Bergen continued. “It was annoying to be there! I drove two hours to be here today, spent an hour in there, and now [I have to] drive two hours back.

“The biggest waste of five hours in my entire life!”

Bergen said he had “no idea” why he was called to a meeting where everyone claimed to know nothing and offered no ideas on how to move forward.

“Here’s the most frustrating part,” he continued. “The colonel of the state police said that he had a helicopter of his flying over, above one of these drones… and he said he felt unsafe for his helicopter, so he just let it go!” a seemingly bewildered Bergen said.

He continued saying that DHS officials claimed to have no idea where the drones are originating but maybe would have if they had “followed that sucker to where it landed,” referring to the drone the police reportedly let go.

“This is a complete lack of effort,” Bergen said, claiming that the U.S. has the “ability, training, technology, and money” to get to the bottom of it and reiterated how “infuriating” it was to have been brought to the meeting for no meaningful reason.

Bergen told the reporter that he had been an “attack, Apache helicopter pilot in the Army” and helped “stand up” the “initial unmanned aircraft training battalion,” which he said gives him more credibility to be critical on the issue.

“These guys are not doing the job they need to do to figure out what’s going on,” he contended, calling out the DHS, FBI, and state police.

When asked about the government/media narrative that there is no current threat to Americans, Bergen shot back, “How the hell do they know!? They don’t know anything! They don’t know what it is. They don’t know where it comes from. They don’t know nothing.”

Bergen’s explosive rant ignited a flurry of discussion on X where many theories are on the table and frustration at a bumbling government response was palpable:

Meanwhile, Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene believes the Pentagon knows what’s going on, but is choosing not to inform Americans and other government officials.

It’s a slap in the face that the Pentagon continues to tell the American people they don’t know who is flying the drones over New Jersey.

I think the Pentagon absolutely knows, but they’re full of crap.

And if they actually don’t know, these officials should resign in disgrace.… pic.twitter.com/48jM7jAuxw

“I think they’re full of sh*t,” Greene said Thursday of those supposedly in the know. “If they don’t know, they need to resign in shame.”

If Brian doesn’t like driving himself for two hours, why doesn’t he just Uber to his meetings? Then he could complain to the driver on his way home.

Retired Admiral Kirby at the White House briefing just said all these reports of drones are uncollaborated, in other words just bunk - manned aircraft being operated lawfully, Coast Guard confirms no involvement from foreign vessels, and no reported or confirmed sightings in restricted airspace.

Yep, these are military grade drones the size of small car. Very expensive, very sophisticated. Someone who matters knows exactly what is going on here and we won’t like it

What is “with” the gratuitous use of “quotation marks” in this “article”?

3” magnum Double 00 buck with full choke bore. Range to 100 yards.
Someone somewhere knows about these things.
Devils advocate:
They are current US Army production to get current with the drones used in Europe against the Ukrainees and the Ruskies.
We need to get up to speed on our drone force and it is something that is not talked about.
IE: loose lips sink ships

The fact that videos and photos show they anti-collison lights means it has to be a government operation. If they were hostile or spy drones they wouldn’t be warning other aircraft of their position.

They don’t know anything, yet the Pentagon spokes person categorically denies that Iran is involved...denied it a bit too forcefully.

As Mr. Spock would say, “Illogical.”

When your country/state/city are run by people who care more about getting boys into playing girls’ sports than the general welfare of the country, this is what you get...

I hope Trump is able to wake this country up so that we can have some return to normalcy.

Yeah, those flashing lights to comply with aviation regulations kind of give it away.

JMO, YMMV

And Kirby just saying they can’t verify these sightings as other than manned aircraft, etc. is infuriating.

Either the current administration knows what they are but has decided to hide the truth from the public, or, the administration is totally incompetent.

I believe they know but are pretending not to know so as to protect some foreign power.

This is serious. The current administration has opened US airspace to an unknown entity.

I wonder if all this is just a ruse to get public support for some sort of restrictive legislation?

I’m surprised no one in office has called yet for a change in the law to let states act unilaterally to defend their airspace if the Feds refuse to do anything.
