Terror in UAE: Missing Chabad emissary murdered, body found

The body of Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad-Lubavitch emissary to Abu Dhabi who went missing last week, has been found, the Prime Minister's Office confirmed Sunday morning.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates announced this morning (Sunday) that a body had been found in the country and that the identity of the deceased was in the process of being verified.

The Prime Minister's Office and Foreign Ministry stated, "The UAE intelligence and security authorities have located the body of Zvi Kogan, who has been missing since Thursday, 21 November 2024. The Israeli mission in Abu Dhabi has been in contact with the family from the start of the event and is continuing to assist it at this difficult time; his family in Israel has also been updated."

"The murder of Zvi Kogan, of blessed memory, is an abhorrent act of antisemitic terrorism. The State of Israel will use all means and will deal with the criminals responsible for his death to the fullest extent of the law," the PMO stated.

Rabbi Kogan was an aide to Rabbi Levi Yitzchak Duchman, chief rabbi of the UAE. Both men were in Israel until Tuesday, and met with Yossi Shelley, Israel's next ambassador to the UAE.

It is believed that Kogan was attacked by three Uzbeks, who are suspected of having been hired by Iran. The three allegedly followed Kogan from his workplace, the kosher supermarket in Abu Dhabi, and then escaped to Turkey. Kogan's vehicle was found an hour and a half's distance from Dubai.

Donald Trump, do your stuff already. This endangers the Abraham Accord, as was intended.

Bibi, stop offering $5M rewards for returning hostages. It only encourages more kidnappings. A few thousand would go a long way in Gaza, and would not incentivize. $5M makes the attendant risks worth taking.

I had thought that the rabbi was taken hostage. He wasn’t, only murdered. But a $5M reward opens the door for more such kidnappings, even though this particular one happened to be a mere act of terror with no monetary end.

Abraham Accords? Agreements? Normalization with Arab states?

Can any Arab regime (even Egypt and Jordan) teach their violent masses, educated on hate and violence towards Jews and Christians to ever embrace peace and move forward into the modern era?

Why do people still call the conflict in the Middle East the “Palestinian-Israeli Conflict” when for the last 100 years it was (AND STILL IS) the Arab-Israeli conflict?

The Arab regimes may see the truth in terms of peace with Israel but I’ll be damned if they pass that concept down to their miserable and suffering masses.

Look at Gaza, (1993-2007), under the PLO they taught hate and launched Kassam missiles into Israeli civilian population centers.
Under HAMAS (2007-present) they did the exact same thing only worse on October 7th.

Who on Earth can reason with these scum? Not the ICC, not the UN, not the EEC, not any diplomats and certainly not a weak and feeble West.
Negotiate a so-called “Two State Solution”...with whom exactly?

The two-state “solution” is dead and discredited. But normalization between other, independent states leads to mano a mano contact in the course of commerce, which is the beginning of something hopeful. I lived for years in Judah and Samaria, and came to know some Palestinians and even have close friendships. They are not all frothing-at-the-mouth hate machines. That’s just what draws the cameras and what leftists want to foment. The biggest mistake that Sharon made was to forcibly evacuate Gush Katif in Gaza. Sure, there are people there who will hate you no matter what. But it’s easier to do that if you never meet one another. There are no guarantees, or easy “solutions”. But there are ways to try for more peace. The leftists keep crying “apartheid,” while pushing for more and more apartheid. That’s what the “two-state solution” was all about. May it rest in pieces.
