Fate of House Control May Hinge on Late Ballots in California Races
Breitbart ^ | 11/07/2024 | Joel B. Pollak

Control of the U.S. House of Representatives could depend on the results of several congressional races in California that are still too close to call — and whose outcome could depend on the arrival of late ballots in the mail.

California allows ballots to be counted if they arrive up to seven days after Election Day, as long as they are postmarked by Election Day itself. That has left several races in Orange County and in the Central Valley hanging in the balance.

Politico reported:

Most pressure bears down squarely on the Golden State, where Democrats hoped to flip as many as five red seats, as well as hold on to the swingy Orange County district being vacated by Democratic Rep. Katie Porter. As of Wednesday, Republicans held the lead, mostly with narrow margins, in all six races.

California campaign strategists spent much of Wednesday trying to assess the number of remaining outstanding ballots, which could be upward of 100,000 uncounted votes or more in key districts.

Democrats have been bailed out by a prolonged count before. The party infamously swept seven GOP-held seats in 2018, only after a marked “blue shift” of late-processed mail and election day ballots — an outcome then-Republican Speaker Paul Ryan derided as “bizarre.”

They will keep delaying and ‘counting’ until they get the desired result.

Decision Desk is still saying Republicans have an 89% chance of keeping control of the House. I don't know if their math accounts for "late ballots" being generated at whim.

Laches: unreasonable delay in making an assertion or claim, such as asserting a right, claiming a privilege, or making an application for redress, which may result in refusal.

Once Trump gets in every national election needs to be audited. Enough of this crap. They can’t count votes for a stinking week? I hate these scumbags. They should all have to live in North Korea.

Fret not. We will keep the house. It’s morning in America again! I know it’s hard after four years of war, but the tide is turning...embrace it, give thanks, and let’s get to work.

Well, I hope our side has also learned how to fake postmarks. The House is the last hope for the Dems. As long as it’s possible, they will cheat.

“whose outcome could depend on the arrival of late CALIFORNIA ballots in the mail.”

100% secure. No dirty tricks. No shenanigans. It’s honest California, after all.

CA ballot harvesting may decide House control?

Congrats to the author for his Mastery of The Obvious.

As I’ve been saying all long, there are at least 5 GOP incumbents who could go down (surely all of them won’t) and another couple of seats in Orange County which could be GAINED.

Also Josh Harder (D) is, for now, in a closer race than expected in northern CA.

In recent ballot-harvesting history (2018-present) lots of CA U.S. House races look close on election day. And then, later (sometimes weeks later).... they don’t.

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/nov/04/tweets/no-proof-us-postal-service-recently-changed-the-de/

IMO, this is why the US Postal Service implemented the policy of not sending mail in ballots through the automated system in 2020
which would would automatically generate an image and a record of the mailed in ballot.

AS we know from first reports in 2020, post office workers were falsifying post marks on late received “ballots.”
It would be a real challenge to falsify the time and date stamp on scanned ballot images
if the courts authorized a search of the records in a fraud investigation.
The same procedures put in place in 2020 are still in place.

From the linked article trying to explain why there are no images of mailed in ballots to expose the fraud:

As it has in past election years, the Postal Service on Oct. 21 launched what it describes as “extraordinary measures” that Johnson said are “designed to accelerate the delivery of ballots mailed close to Election Day.”

The measures include additional collections, extra deliveries, special sorting plans on processing equipment and a different way of handling mailed ballots, Johnson said.

“Under normal operations, any piece of mail, including an absentee ballot, is handled and postmarked at the processing facility closest to its originating post office and, depending on how far it is going, will be handled again at one or more processing facilities closer to its (destination) post office,” Johnson said.

Under the special election year process, however, mailed ballots addressed to a local or nearby election office “will bypass the processing operation and will instead be postmarked at the local unit and delivered to the election office,” Johnson said. “This is consistent with our practice in previous general elections.”

The agency’s 2020 press release used the same “extraordinary measures” language. We also found a more detailed October 2020 memorandum that detailed similar provisions, including one authorizing local post offices to postmark and deliver ballots to boards of elections “rather than the ballots being placed into the automation flow.” A September 2022 memo said the agency would employ the same “extraordinary measures” as it had in 2020.

There might not be digital images of ballot envelopes, but that doesn’t equal fraud

If ballots bypass automated processing, the Postal Service may not generate electronic images of the ballot envelopes as it usually would as part of its informed delivery service, according to the agency’s website. Informed delivery is an opt-in Postal Service program that sends image previews of incoming Postal Service mail. Those images, however, “are only provided for letter-sized mailpieces that are processed through USPS’s automated equipment,” the Postal Service website says.

But there’s no evidence that a lack of images signals fraud.
