Dennis Quaid spoke at a rally for Republican nominee Donald Trump in Coachella, California on Saturday, during which the actor compared Trump to President Ronald Reagan, whom Quaid portrays in the new film “Reagan.”
“Hello, everybody. God bless you. God bless America,” Quaid said. “I’m here today to tell you that it’s time to pick a side.”
The actor then specified what the choice is between.
“Are we going to be a nation that stands for the Constitution or for TikTok?”
“Are we going to be a nation of law and order, or wide open borders?” he continued. “Which is it? Because it’s time to pick a side.”
QUAID: "Hello, everybody. God bless you. God bless America. I’m here today to tell you that it’s time to pick a side. Are we going to be a nation that stands for the Constitution or for TikTok? Are we going to be a nation of law and order, or wide open borders? Which is it? Because it’s time to pick a side.
You know, I’m an actor and I just had this movie come out that’s, it was a famous last name: Reagan. My favorite president of the 20th century.
And it’s amazing how the issues of the 1980 election are very similar to what they are today. I don’t know if you have – those of you who are of a certain age here probably remember the inflation that was going on back then: 20% interest on a bank loan. We had Iran hostages. We were a nation in decline.
That’s what they told us. Ronald Reagan came along and said, no, we’re not a nation in decline. We’re going there. And we followed him.
The same with Trump. With President Trump. My favorite president of the 21st century."

He goes through the whole list of what Trump accomplished vs. what Biden F’ed up.
Good old cousin Eddie!
Wrong Quade! He is his brother.
D’oh!
Apparently Randy is a Trump supporter also.
“Quade”
Doh!
Not a big Quade brothers fan, are you? :)
This is the handsome, normal one :)
I first became aware of Dennis Quaid from “The Right Stuff” - a great movie, BTW. He was very likeable in his portrayal of astronaut Gordon Cooper.
I’d take Donald Trump over a demonrat any day.
Good for him.
The amount of misinformation being put out there by TikTok gobbled up by teenagers and young people old enough to vote is scary. I work with teenagers and they share what they see with me.
Outstanding!!!
I'll second that. One of my top 5 movies (with the other four being "White Squall", "Kings Row", "The World's Fastest Indian" and "The Razor's Edge"). I was fortunate enough to see "The Right Stuff" at a Baybrook Mall right near NASA in a theater filled with space nerds.
Yes, it was very well done. One of my favorites. Thanks for the top 5 list. I’ll have to check them out.
I love them, but just can’t keep them straight.
"King's Row" is more profound than "Citizen Kane", and stars Ronald Reagan.
"What Squall" is so good that I force myself to overlook the fact that commie Jeff Bridges stars in it (actually, he's perfectly cast). "Where we go one, we go all."
"The World's Fastest Indian" is a message of hope - hope that even old geezers can get the occasional "roll in the hay"! Actually, the last minute of the movie leaves one in shock.
You’ve piqued my interest. I’m putting them on my list of movies to watch. One of the things that made The Right Stuff so special was it’s almost poetic treatment of the events depicted. Great music, cinematography, etc. It may have gotten a few of the details wrong but it conveyed the grandeur and significance of the events in a sublime way.
BTW, two movies that rank high with me are “Breaker Morant” and “Bounty”. If you haven’t ever seen them, you might find them to your liking.
I'll look them up this very evening and get them on the watch list.
