The bloodbath keeps getting worse at the Walt Disney Company, with a new round of layoffs expected to impact hundreds of corporate employees this week.
An estimated 300 people are affected by the layoffs that started Tuesday and are continuing at least through Thursday .. The employees affected are all in the U.S., with multiple divisions impacted, including legal, human resources, finance, and communications

The layoffs represent the latest round of cutting at Disney, which has been trying to right its financial ship amid continued cord-cutting as well as pessimistic consumer sentiment tied to record inflation under the Biden-Harris administration.
Last year, Disney eliminated a whopping 7000 jobs worldwide, with CEO Bob Iger promising an additional $2 billion in additional cost savings.
Disney recently swung the ax across multiple TV properties, including ABC News — which recently aired the rigged presidential debate — and Fauci documentary channel Nat Geo. ABC News’ evening show suffered a ratings drop following the debate as viewers made their sentiment known about how the network stacked the deck against former President Donald Trump.

Disney has also been dealing with the ongoing consumer backlash to its embrace of woke identity politics, especially the promotion of transgenderism in its entertainment aimed at children.

They think it’s cord cutting. I would be a subscriber for the Marvel content if they hadn’t made it so gay and feminist. They write scripts by committee. It’s the worst way to write. Everyone has some objection to something and they end up with bland content trying not to offend anyone. They are left with nothing interesting. The only thing they can rely on is the vast array of supporting characters from the comics. I was not unhappy with the last ant man movie but I hated that they made modok a caricature. Not to mention that they have screwed up the Star Wars franchise and everything that Pixar makes.
The first Ant Man movie was funny. And it was fresh. The last one was bland.

Musk is going to buy it and call it X land and the rocket to the moon ride is for real
“Disney recently swung the ax across multiple TV properties, including ABC News”.
Music to my ears. We need a whole lot more layoffs at ABC News.
So they are allowed to say “bloodbath”?
But not Trump?
Ok to say bloodbath?
Here is one.
Four-day pass per person at Disneyworld Orlando runs from $341 to $396. Maybe these prices had something to do with it. If you are a family of four that’s sixteen hundred bucks. Just for admission. These prices had to have a negative effect on attendance figures and then they had to find employees to blame. But no matter what it always seems in corporations when the numbers go south the employees get hit with massive layoffs. I’ve seen it happen three times in my previous working life.
DEI. Somehow, animated caricatures of people/creatures has to show over-represented DEI.
I hope they kept the dei folks and doubled their pay. Giggle, snort.
It’s bloodbath, I tell ya!!! A BLOODBATH!!!
Old Disney: May it live forever
Woke Disney: Die, Die, Die. FOREVER.
The Disney Corporation needs a resurrection.
Where’s Walt?
Here is an idea…make stuff people want to watch. Maybe toss in a white, married person from time to time. Have kids in shows who have two parents that are not idiots.
Nah….lets go spend $28M an episode on crap that no one wanted to watch.
The sheer size of these layoffs clearly illustrate that management (oxymoron) is downsizing the company not just tightening it’s belt.
We took the first round of grandchildren and their parents to Disney for 1 week 7 years ago. We will not be taking the second round of grandchildren to Disney since going woke.
the only way to combat this is to go more, more more woke-
