Marjorie Taylor will vote no on SAVE Act attachment to spending bill.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene🇺🇸

@RepMTG

This is classic bait and switch that will enrage the base, only one month before the election, when they find out they have been tricked and let down again.

The only way to make the SAVE Act a law would be to refuse to pass a CR until the Senate agrees to pass the SAVE Act and Biden agrees to sign it into law.

This would force a Gov shutdown on Oct 1 because Biden and Schumer both said they will shutdown the government as they are that adamant against the SAVE Act.

Johnson will NOT commit to standing up against the Democrats in a shutdown fight and will allow passage of a clean CR in order to fund the government because he believes a gov shutdown will be blamed on Republicans and will hurt their elections.

Johnson is leading a fake fight that he has no intention of actually fighting.

Even with a shutdown and full fight into Oct, it would be too late for the SAVE Act to make a difference for this election because absentee ballots would already be being mailed and early voting already starting.

I refuse to lie to anyone that this plan will work and it’s already DOA this week.

Speaker Johnson needs to go to the Democrats, who he has worked with the entire time, to get the votes he needs to do what he is already planning to do.

Lauren Boebert is also voting No. Here’s her Tweet:

Rep. Lauren Boebert

@RepBoebert

You’re right, Marjorie.

We have the power of the purse, and it’s time we use it!

The SAVE Act is a good bill. We have already passed it in the House. It needs to be passed by the Senate BEFORE the House considers funding this weaponized government.

Secure our elections or shut it down! Simple.

Thanks. I was waiting for an analysis and I think MTG and the others are willing to take the tough stand and shut down the Government. Johnson, not so much.

You don’t want a government shutdown less than 60 days before an election.

This is the replay of the Lindsay Graham abortion ban.

Pass a continuing resolution that keeps things open until January.

She doesn’t know the Republicans always cave and the Dems always get their CRs?

Has she been living in a cave?

Kevin McCarthy and Thomas Massie already moved the Debt Ceiling until after the Election is over - for nothing in return.

I agree with that.

Low info voters will just see “shutdown by bad Republicans” as Shumer, NaziP and KacklinKameltoe chortle all the way to the ballot box.

Just like the last time she voted to shut down the government. Yeah, you go girl.
They have supported Joe and Kamala every year. This fake fight now is more theater.
Wake me when they shut the government down for a single day.
Everyone here has such a short memory of how many times republicans spent your tax dollars on commie budgets over the last 16 years.

Oh, fer bleep’s sake...

Fedzilla does NOT shut down.

What happens is that the parts that Deep State wants to keep running get deemed essential and continue to stay running.

What Deep State will allow to close are any parts that would bring the pain to the American public.

You know, the familiar beatings will continue until morale improves tactic.

As for whether the public would blame Trump for that...

Not any more.

Want proof: Deep State has to steal elections.

Call Deep State’s bluff.

Refuse to fund.

Then prepare to have our fellow Americans’ backs if Deep State brings the pain.

Johnson is a perfect reason of why people despise the GOPe/uniparty so much, gawd I hate him. This country is in the mess it is in because of sellout, thieves like him. I’m not voting for my congressman Walberg, (Turncoat-R) either, a once conservate turned RINO. If this country is going to survive $trillions need to be cut from the budget every year permanently.

The US House of Representatives hasn’t passed an actual budget since 1997! 27 years with no actual budget! They’ve done nothing but omnibus and CRs for 27 years. Why the Hell should we capitulate on this? Someone’s gotta take a stand. This is absurd.

CR to fund the most important things, no extras like Ukraine, other foreign countries, green deals, pay raises for congress, government or illegals.

My 44 year old got fired from his pizza delivery job, he’s refused to get a GED, quit 4 months before HS graduation as he turned 18. Spent 13 yrs learning to weld, spray paint, and drive a forklift. So doesn’t lack skills. Now has wife 2 girls, so every stimulus check, Income Tax Credits. Thinks 2 seniors on SS was going to support them. It is still warm no one is going to freeze. We just paid out $5,800 for my much needed new hearing aids which are my BD, Christmas and Anniversary present plus car ins. We are not a bank, not rich, hub offered him money to do work around the house, and my chicken coop he can’t do at 84. Wife txts about 4:30 pm the power has been shut off. Unlike those who have phones glued to their ears I don’t carry my phone in the house I didn’t hear it. So she txt hub. She’s ‘sick’ yeah in the head. Won’t give up the $10 buck cigs or Starbucks daily.

Then he goes and begs food money from his DSSI older brother, who had a triple bypass. Never pays loans back.Learn to live within your means.

Government should too.

“Each house shall be the judge of the elections, returns, and qualifications of its own members”

Constitution of the United States, Article I, Section 5

The Republican House of Representatives can adjudicate any matter which may present itself during a federal House candidate election, such as conducting a signature verification.

The Republican House might have special masters appointed by each state Republican party (and Democratic party if it wishes to participate) adjudicate (and validate) each voter and each ballot that comes in by mail or is to be dropped into a drop box.

The adjudications would need to be done right then and there in most cases. That would require preparation.
