President Donald Trump has signed a bill giving terminally ill patients the right to try experimental treatments not approved by the government.
...
The new Right to Try act allows patients with life-threatening diseases to bypass the FDA's application process for "compassionate use" of experimental drugs. Patients seeking access to "investigational drugs" now need only the approval of their physician and the drug manufacturer.
The new bill protects doctors and companies from the legal risks of allowing unapproved treatments unless they intentionally harm a patient.
The policy that patients must have exhausted all other approved treatments and clinical trial options remains.
In Mr Trump's State of the Union address in January, he called upon Congress to pass the bill, saying "patients with terminal conditions, and terminal illness, should have access to experimental treatment immediately" and "should not have to go from country to country to seek a cure".

Incidentally, this would make a good ad for you Super PAC people or connections to Super PACs who lurk around here...could create quite a sentimental ad with something like this - highlighting what it did and what it means for people, concluding with “Some ask why we would want President Trump back in office...here’s just one of many reasons.” A common theme for a series of ads about his accomplishments.
Is this law being recognized? I don’t think they follow it in CA.
While the left proposes laws that make it easier to take your life in despair when you are sick or mentally ill, Trump proposes laws to offer hope and another chance at life.
Thank you for posting this!
My BFF died at age 37 of lung and liver cancer. It is RAMPANT in her family - they owned a bowling alley, so they were all exposed to smoke all the time. Both of her parents died, just a few years apart from brain cancers. :(
She knew her days were numbered so she told her doctors to use any and all ‘experimental’ drugs on her; she was a willing Guinea Pig.
I’ve never been prouder of her; I spent a LOT of time with her in her final weeks. And she was a person that you’d NEVER think would do this; she wanted things her way or the highway. ;)
I hope if I’m confronted with something like this in my life, I will be as brave as she was.
Miss you, Cathy! Every day! But you know that - I ‘talk’ to you all the time! *HEART*
God Bless President in Exile Trump! Vote! Vote! Vote! Fight! Fight! Fight! :)
“A common theme for a series of ads about his accomplishments.”
That’s brilliant! I have no idea why ‘Team Trump’ doesn’t scour these pages for ideas every day! :)
*HINT*
Not sure if the experimental drugs did this, or that she was just THAT STUBBORN, but they gave her 6 weeks to live at diagnosis, and she made it to twelve.
And she was never hospitalized through any of it; she got to die at home, which was also her wish.
The VA. Trump let our vets walk down the street to find a local doctor. Why would the rats fight it? The real battle will be over 100% school choice. Gonna be awesome!
Now I did put “flashback”... :-)
Just an indignant Covid PING
President Trump approved ‘right to try’ legislation for patients wanting to try experimental drugs in 2018.
The CDC made sure that patients were denied the ‘right to try’ HCQ or Ivermectin, both of which are FDA approved for human use, and were in use for many years.
The CDC was lying 24/7, claiming that ‘Covid’ was threatening humanity, but you can’t take Ivermectin for it, you can only have organ-killing Remdesivir or it’s just better you stay at home, receive no treatment until you need an excessively pressurized ventilator to help you die.
A year later, during which time, according to CDC propaganda, ‘Covid’ was expected to decimate humanity, the medical regime forced the public through mandates to try an experimental ‘Covid’ gene therapy’shots’, in order to keep their jobs, attend school, travel etc. The CDC and pharmas, and Congress all excused themselves from ‘shot’ mandates.
So you can’t try FDA approved drugs you want, but you are forced to try barely tested gene therapies you don’t want, and which don’t work and have zero history of success, unless you are the abusers in the CDC, Pharmas, FDA etc. in which case you are exempted from vax mandates without anyone explaining why you should be allowed to ‘kill grandma’ by remaining ‘vax free’. Oh and the CDC/Pharmas/FDA etc. are never ‘hated’ for being ‘vax deniers’ or ‘anti-vax’ for refusing the vax, while pushing the vax.
I know, we know this. But it’s never going to be ‘okay’ to read about ways the totalitarian medical regime abused the public. *rant off*
This law is utterly ignored.
It was passed before Covid panic, but nobody was allowed to try ivermectin or hydroxychloroquune.
Thanks ransomnote!
My son died in April after being refused by the drug company to try a drug that was actually being touted as a cure. His boss was willing to pay for the cost of the drug and they still refused. He died a week after finding out his latest request was refused.
I appreciate your “rant,” and trust me, most of us here feel the same as you. I’m going to be ordering some Ivermectin and HCQ from India here soon so I got a supply of it. But you are right, the sheer hypocrisy of exempting themselves from the mandates (and I even heard that many in the pharms and govn took Ivermectin) while trying to force it upon the masses makes me angry beyond belief, and now people are injured or dying because of it.
This was probably the legal basis for the clot shots being "approved by the CDC for emergency use". Of course, usually when it was told by the media they took out the "for emergency use" part.
My VA is AWESOME. We female Vets have two new clinics to use - East & West, which makes my drive in less than an hour, now.
Loving it!. Not loving that we have so many female Vets missing limbs and/or suffering from PTSD. :(
Currently having some skin cancer (Basal Cell Carcinoma) taken care of and I really love the Dermatology MD that is helping me, as well as her Intern. Very professional, very reassuring that I’m going to get through this A-OK.
The cancer has not spread! :)
I caught that right away. It seems like the others before you never did.
Cures come by experimenting not by a charm or a rabbits foot he’s right.
What do they have to lose death is near anyway at least die trying.
