ILLINOIS (WMBD) β EYM Chicken Operations and its parent company, Yum, shut down multiple Illinois KFC fast-food locations earlier this week, implementing mass layoffs of its employees statewide.
According to a former maintenance employee who worked at several central Illinois KFC restaurants, his director of operations called him on Aug. 6 to notify him of his termination. The employee said he was vacationing in Tennessee when he received the call.
He requested a formal notification via email from his director and received an email that outlined the circumstances surrounding the sudden departure shortly after.
He said the company eliminated his position effective immediately and he felt βtreated as though he did something wrong.β
On Monday, four KFC fast-food locations in Illinois, including those where the maintenance employee worked, abruptly closed Monday morning, according to former restaurant employees.

“Now where will I ever be able to get four fried chickens and a Coke?”
Jake? Is that you?
I remember watching You Asked for It as a kid. And they always had Skippy Peanut Butter commercials. We’d would spend the next commercial in the kitchen making peanut butter sandwiches. Someone talks about something they’re cooking and I can’t wait to make it, too.
Glad I don’t feel that way about politics. I’ve been a Republican since Eisenhower’s 1952 convention and have never been tempted much away since then.
We are adding so much to culture by these.
Thanks for the poetic art.
McDonald’s is starting to suck too
That was kind a like a High Coup. Nice!

I used to love Popeye’s, but I can’t find a good one anymore. In my area they all appear to be poorly run and dirty.
There's been something up with KFC in particular. It was odd to see them launch a breakfast menu of all things, as though they were like any other fast food chain.
These companies are run like a mall food court, where one shell company owns all of restaurants and each is treated as a branded variation of the same slop.
