Donald Trump has picked Ohio senator J.D. Vance as his running mate, choosing a grassroots favorite ahead of more seasoned political operators.
The former president left it until the last possible moment, using all his showman skills to leave the world guessing, before opting for 39-year-old Vance after the Republican National Convention had already begun in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Vance swept to national attention when he published his bestselling memoir 'Hillbilly Elegy,' in 2016, the year Trump was elected president.
He has been a senator for less than two years but has established himself as one of the fiercest defenders of Trump’s 'Make America Great Again' agenda, especially when it comes to foreign policy, trade and immigration.
The former venture capitalist and U.S. Marine had initially been critical of Trump.

I know he's highly intelligent and seems to definitely be a MAGA supporter. However, he's very...VERY low energy. The opposite of Vance as you said...with fire in his belly.
In saner, safer times in the country, and the world for that matter...if just about everything weren't on the verge of destruction, he'd have been a great choice.
Besides, during vetting, Carson may have told Trump he's not interested in the VP position. He just doesn't seem like a very political person. Perhaps we'll see him in a cabinet position.

Hopefully Trump/Vance cuts back the h1-b invasion and Student Visa scammers. I’ve read online that Canada is having some problems with the Student Visa people from India hopefully we stop the problem before it gets out of control.

The democrats don't need the vote in the current SCOTUS.
All they need to do is repeat their "success" in 2020 and 2022.
1. "Register" to vote the 30+ million foreign nationals in our country illegally. Then either get those illegal votes cast by them, or fill in the ballots...on their behalf.
2. Couple that with repeating the fraud perpetrated in 2020...
And they can have 120 million (or more if need be) votes for biden be counted and Voilà!
3. They can then pack the court as they see fit and proceed to pass any and every law they want.
Anybody in this country that doesn't think they aren't capable, or won't do it, are ignoramuses of the highest order.
Not to mention, the so-called battle ground states didn't do jack to ensure free and fair elections in their states.
I think Trump sees him as someone who’s not an official DC critter that can carry the MAGA torch. He’s also well spoken and can crush the MSM as good as Vivek when arguing with them. Darren Beattie has a good article about the pairing. Basically, Vance being rural middle USA and Trump appreciating the rural middle USA. They both care about forgotten/dismissed/denigrated Americans.
I was kind of hoping out of nowhere, he’d pick Devin Nunes but I think he’s done with DC.

Carson is the one Trump needed. Vance is a 30 + year-old kid. Frankly, I think Trump made a terrible mistake. The last thing
America needs is another foreigner. How is it so difficult to date an American lady in college and really care? I think these guys want easy pickings. Sick.
From a self-preservation angle, Trump needed to pick a running mate that the establishment would hate. The convention is starting so he should officially have the nomination soon. After that any would be assassin would essentially be guaranteeing that the VP pick an even easier path to the White House than Trump already has now.
