The incident happened on Monday near Syracuse Hancock International Airport..
Two airplanes appeared to come too close to one another while flying near an airport in Syracuse, New York, on Monday.
A Delta Connection flight was taking off when an American Eagle flight was preparing to land on the same runway, local outlet WABC reported.

DEI air traffic controllers?
Boeings fault, for sure.
Excuses. One pilot tried to avoid a wheel heading for it while the other was avoiding an exit door that blew off into the air.
Close but not a collision.

Couldn’t find the one of pilot George Kennedy avoiding surface to air missiles by maneuvers with the passenger plane.

Looks like the planes missed. No time for evasive maneuver. The cops noticed the near miss.
It is good to be lucky!
Probably due to controllers with under 100 IQ’s.
Many years ago I was riding a US Air flight that was forced to go around. We passengers never saw the other plane, but we were still a couple of miles from the numbers and at a guess still above 1000 feet when our pilot throttled up.
It’s pretty much SOP for a departing flight to be cleared to the active while another plane is on approach but still miles out. Been in that position riding right seat in a friend’s Cessna twin. If the first plane is slow about initiating takeoff, the separation closes up. Then you hear the word “expedite” spoken forcefully to the departing pilot.
With about 3400hrs of military and test flight time (crew member not pilot) I’ve seen some close calls first hand. There’s not a lot of time i.e. seconds in the 700 to 1000 feet vertical depending on horizontal separational.
I haven’t flown since 2012 especially commercial. It’s either fights in the cabin, incompetent TSA or woke ass pilots.. I’ll drive.
Appeared? They don’t know??
I was on a British Airways 747 coming into to Gatwick-London and the pilot gunned it and we went around. He told us we had to go around because there was a plane on the runway, but he added that there would be no additional charge for the extra flying. :)
Times have changed, it’s a brave new world now. You can’t hold on to those rigid principles, not everybody can live up to your expectations and High standards. Mishaps like are bound to be plentiful in the future.
