FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh wants to “fix” the behavior of her department’s predominately male workforce — but can’t figure out how to extinguish their flames of discontent.
Kavanagh — who’s butted heads with plenty of male underlings since being named the city’s first female fire commissioner in 2022 — made the blunt admission while apologizing to New York Attorney General Letitia James during a March 8 text exchange, a day after pro-Donald Trump firefighters and other attendees mercilessly booed the Democratic pol during a department promotion ceremony.
“I should have called you last night, but I’ve been trying to find a way to say I’m sorry that doesn’t involve me apologizing for men who don’t deserve such grace,” texted Kavanagh, according to records The Post obtained from the AG’s office through a Freedom of Information Law request.

She had invited the AG to speak at a
promotion ceremony and when James got up tp speak she was booed throughout her remarks. Partly because of James’ civil witch hunt of Trump and partly for her cinstant comments that FDNY personnel are racist and sexist.
She should fire all the crackers and replace them with undocumented newcomers. They would probably refuse to go into a burning building (especially a Jewish one), but they will have the right politics (except for hating Sodomites).
A woman should never have been put in that position. I’m speaking as a woman.

She obviously believes “her” fire fighters are not entitled to their own opinions, particularly when they don’t coincide with hers.
I will be glad to watch NYC burn itself down, except, the roaches will scurry away and infect other places.

Sounds like the New Yawk water buffalo is still upset at the guys that put out the fires for humiliating her affirmative action butt. The job of firefighter requires lots of horsepower, a pretty good mind and a hell of a lot of courage, which is the opposite of DEI. When a roof is falling in and airpack alarms are going off and you get one bad decision from dying, there is no time for “Pie in the Sky” theories.
