The aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower — which had been leading the response against Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden — is returning home.
U.S. Central Command announced that the carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt will head to the Middle East to maintain a presence in the region.
The Eisenhower was deployed to the region more than seven months ago — just a few weeks after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack against Israel.
Also watch several videos on youtube of recent drone attacks on merchant ships in the red sea. Huge explosions. Some say worst attacks since WW2?
A real President would have introduced to the Houthi’s fuel air bombs. Lots of them.
Much more likely: Biden and Obama paid off by the Iranians.
It has always been Obama/Biden policy to make the Iranians the Middle East regional power.
That is obviously why they have pushed for a nuclear armed Iran.
Nit that I’m aware of. They have been on station for a long time. Everyone needs a break.
I was going to say the same thing.
I read earlier today that the Ike was extended further and would not be coming home right now.
6-7 months deployed is about the average length for a carrier. According to a couple articles I’ve read she’s been deployed 9 months. The delay in relief not being on station seems to be due to USS Theodore Roosevelt changing homeport first and deploying late next month.
How is it that Millie’s Military can’t snuff out the Houthi?
No. There is no evidence whatsoever that any Houthi weapons even got close. The ship has way over-extended its deployment and needs some serious maintenance time @ home port.
Now, that all said, the Roosevelt is in Korea and obviously could not get to the ME immediately if a crisis occurs. This gives Iran / Hezbollah a window...
USS Wasp is IIRC in the Med and has F-35’s, but, obviously is not as capable.
The extension was for a month, the month is nearly over...
This is a rather old ship, so I suspect the Navy doesn’t want the port maintenance schedule to slip by too much.
I heard she was damaged, sailors injured. I hope I am wrong.
They were not ordered to do so.
Scoots with its tail between its legs...
How embarrassing to anyone older than 70...
The Hooties are about to receive an upgrade to their missile arsenal from Iran via Russia. A couple of Hypersonic missiles in the wrong hands could be damaging to US Power projection via carrier groups.
As much as I hate the DNC I sense Obama is gleefully enjoying the Russian spread of weapons for use against the west worldwide. I truly do hate the DNC. Their thuggishness do not play out according to their low IQ plans on the world stage.
Awful pic of a frightened dog .

Newsweak and NPR are two extremely reliable sources. I trust everything they say. </s>
It’s been extended about 2 months past the usual deployment time. It needs maintenance and crew is likely getting tired. Yeap I said tired. A carrier at sea means Ground Hog Day every day you aren’t in port. LONG working hours which typically include two watches. Many times 4 hours sleep as well. Ship needs routine mandatory shipyards work 3 or more months or possibly a year depending on last overhaul and crew needs a deserved break from sea.
It's been debunked.
Damaging flat tops should be hazardous to one’s health. But not in Brandon Bidenoff’s navy. Houthis still menacing shipping.
