The quicker we can get all of these mentally ill men out of women’s and girl’s sports, the better. If they insist, maybe set up an “It” category for anyone to compete in if they don’t want to complete within their sex. Maybe more politically correct, call it “Open”.

Americans don’t resist men in womens’ sports. Enough buy into the bizarro fantasy that a man is a woman if he says so.
Most of the rest of the world correctly sees this as ludicrous. I can imagine most foreign lady olympians would refuse to compete. That would be an IIOC disaster. Hence, the decision.
If the Olympic powers that be could get away with it they would but I think having this transgender thing be in your face at the Olympics might be too much of a turnoff for too many. The Olympics are on thin enough ice as it is.

What I do want to see is a bunch of transsexual (men) try out and make it into the WNBA, and into women’s tennis, and into college women’s softball, and into female professional boxing, and into the the female gymnastics team, and into female track competitions, and into ‘professional’ female soccer.
I would welcome all transsexual (men) into all female sports. If the rules and regulations forbid discrimination against them, then, let’s have them into all female sports and into all female locker rooms. Let’s also have transsexuals who identify as women take the roles of hosts on TV news and other entertainment venues. Let’s have transsexuals take the roles of Bond-women. The Hollywood people won’t be able to object to that last one.

Mr. Thomas wasn't barred by the U.S. for any women's rights. He was barred because the Olympic Committed doesn't want to offend members of the horde.

I do not known if anyone else noticed, but as soon as the homosexual marriage push lost its notoriety, within a few months the trans insanity began to be pushed.
Long before the current Trans craziness, there was and is a very strange condition where people wanted to identify as disabled. Disabled to the point of wanting to rid themselves of a perfectly good arm or leg. The desire to have a sensory or physical disability, discomfort with being a complete, able-bodied person with all their limbs.
This condition is classified as
Body integrity dysphoria (BID), also referred to as body integrity identity disorder (BIID), amputee identity disorder or xenomelia, and formerly called apotemnophilia.
This is a recognized mental disorder and condition.
Today, so-called doctors, therapists, and other medical ‘professionals’ are pushing adults and children to cut off parts of their bodies, and scream it is a civil right, instead of a mental condition. Many (most?) European countries have banned this practice with children.
