Judge Merchan made sure to let the jurors know who is in charge of the sham trial.
Per Paul Ingrassia: Judge Merchan tells the jurors that “nothing the lawyers said is evidence” and “nothing said during the summations is evidence.”
Merchan: You and you alone are the judges of the facts of this case.
Merchan: I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR EXPLAINING THE LAW, NOT THE LAWYERS. YOUR SWORN DUTY AS JURORS IS TO FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS ON THE LAW, AS YOU PROMISED ME THAT YOU WOULD.
Alvin Bragg’s prosecutors fumed after Trump’s lawyer Todd Blanche said Trump shouldn’t be sent to prison over a non-crime.
Judge Merchan became irate that Todd Blanche made a quip about Bragg’s prosecutors wanting to sentence Trump to prison.
Coming from the same guy who has repeatedly threatened to put Trump in jail for gag order violations.
Judge Merchan screamed at Todd Blanche at the top of his lungs: “YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO MAKE A STATEMENT LIKE THAT IN MY COURTROOM!”

BREAKING: Let me get this straight: so it’s fine for Merchan to threaten to toss Trump in jail every single day for violating his ridiculous gag order, but when Blanche makes reference to Trump going to jail, he enters into a nervous meltdown, admonishes Blanche, and screams at the top of his lungs “YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO MAKE A STATEMENT LIKE THAT IN MY COURTROOM!”

And yet he was fine with this:
Prosecutor: Pecker and AMI became covert arms of the defendant’s campaign.... Purchasing stories was an illegal campaign contribution. Contracts are legal, but a contract to kill your wife is illegal. The American people have a right to know.
I really really hope somebody recorded this insane outburst. Not only would this make a great political ad for Trump, it would clearly demonstrate just how unhinged NYC Democrats are.

Ha! You beat me to it. Nazi Judge Freisler also liked to scream like a maniac at innocent defendants. Until a building fell on his head, that is.
Man, this guy is super impartial.
When a defense lawyer sees a judge who is so easy to provoke into flustery rages, the temptation is to keep on with subtle provocations and vague challenges. The hope being this judge will so beclown himself, as to fritter away even more of his credibility and authority.
This Judge’s antics will make overturning a conviction a cinch..............
I believe you’re absolutely correct.
This judge needs to be indicted for treason, found guilty as sin, then spend the rest of his life in prison with his pension revoked and fined $85 million dollars so all his assets are kaput.
