Auf Wiedersehen, My Dear--Russ Columbo (1932)
Your love will cling to me through the lonely daytime,
Each night will bring to me the magic memory of Maytime.
Here's an original version--the lyrics make no mention of Maytime.
Auf Wiedersehen, Leb Wohl (goodbye, farewell)--Parlophone Dance Orchestra; vocal by Luigi Bernauer (1932)

Howdy, Kathy.
I hope things have gone smoothly today.
It looks like it’s been trying hard to be a pretty day up there but the clouds are reluctant to move out. It’s still a LOT prettier than down here.

If you tuned in to a rock and roll stateion in the opening weeks of 1958, your DJ might have been spinning these tunes:
Maybe, Baby--The Crickets
Maybe--The Chantels

(False start on this recording prompts much laughter, sort of like Kamala cackles! 🙂 )

This song could appropriately be sung in May. (For instance, if Barron had a special female friend in high school, he could sing this one to her right now, in May, if he plans on crossing paths with her again in the fall.)
"See You In September" - The Happenings

"April Showers" sounds like it may have been inspired by the depression of 1920-1922--like
Ain't We Got Fun?,
Look for the Silver Lining and
Second-Hand Rose.
Although "April Showers" was a hit in 1921, the recording here was not waxed that year. Judging from the sound, it was probably cut around the time of the Korean War.

So, you don't like it?

Good evening, Songcraft...FINALLY my work day is OVER. I have vacated my work computer for my own computer in another room. Last night I had to go back to work for 5 hours! 2 new managers didn’t know how to enter correcting timesheets. Lots of handholding, but good progress.
Hope you had a good week.

They have been working you too hard there, Kathy!
I'm fine. Hope you are too!
