Two supporters of the climate activism group Just Stop Oil have smashed the glass protecting the Magna Carta, an iconic British manuscript from the 13th century, on Friday.
According to Just Stop Oil, Reverend Dr. Sue Parfitt, 82, an active Anglican priest and author, and Judy Bruce, 85, a retired biology teacher, entered the British Library in London on Friday morning and “smashed the glass enclosure that surrounds the Magna Carta.”
After this, the pair glued themselves to the document’s enclosure and held up a sign that said “The government is breaking the law,” Just Stop Oil said.

Actually, how did they smash the case? We use bullet-proof glass for such objects. Maybe the case to keep fingerprints off the actual object case?

An aging Anglican priestess and an aging retired teacher ... they’re old enough to know better.

I guess they don’t need to use any of the documents protections against these people?

It was the first document in history to try and limit the power of Government.
King John signed it and then promptly ignored it.
There has never been another king named John in England..............

Force these idiots to live the life they claim to want. Take everything from them made with oil, or where oil may have been used in its production, packaging, or shipment. Make them live it for a year. Then ask their bug-eaten corpses if they thought their original stance was a good idea.

A couple of old commies being “useful idiots” because they’re too old to really prosecute. The Magna Carta is, I think, one of the bedrock documents of Capitalism.

Absolute LUNATICS. The Magna Carta? Gluing hands to the frame by an episcopal priestess and her girlfriend (lesbo pal)? Lunacy.
Incredibly precious treasure document having NOTHING to do with returning to non-existent woodlands for heating source and anything else- like, gasoline. Psychotic actions.
