Russian Troops Enter Base Housing US Military in Niger, US Official Says
Reuters US News ^ | 05 02 2024 | Phil Stewart and Idrees Ali

Russian military personnel have entered an air base in Niger that is hosting U.S. troops, a senior U.S. defense official told Reuters, a move that follows a decision by Niger's junta to expel U.S. forces from the country.

The military officers ruling the West African nation have told the U.S. to withdraw its nearly 1,000 military personnel from the country, which until a coup last year had been a key partner for Washington's fight against insurgents who have killed thousands of people and displaced millions more.

A senior U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Russian forces were not mingling with U.S. troops but were using a separate hanger at Airbase 101, which is next to Diori Hamani International Airport in Niamey, Niger's capital.

The move by Russia's military puts U.S. and Russian troops in close proximity at a time when the nations' military and diplomatic rivalry is increasingly acrimonious over the conflict in Ukraine.

It also raises questions about the fate of U.S. installations in the country following a withdrawal.

Every.single.war. the US deep-state engages in, large or small, ultimately results in the US homeland getting flooded with cronies, democrat party voters and free-shit-seeking migrants from that country.

There’s a perverse globalist and marxist mechanism behind this phenomenon.

For that reason, we should be thankful their governments are kicking the US Army out.

All the Africans our military trains end up overthrowing their governments and become completely loose cannons.

I recall a Senate hearing where our general officers in charge of our forces in Africa had to admit such. Jaw dropping.

“What the hell are we doing in Niger anyway?”

From the web:

“The natural resources of Niger include uranium, coal, gold, iron ore, tin, phosphates, petroleum, molybdenum, salt, and gypsum. Niger has some of the largest uranium reserves in the world. It also has a good amount of oil reserves.”

In short uranium and oil are why we are there and why the Ruzzians are there.

I’m sure the Russians will thank us for building a base for tens of millions of dollars. What an embarrassment. We have some pathetic people at the top of our government. Just watch any of them at a congressional hearing. They either lie of they are clueless. I haven’t seen one of them that is competent and honest. It’s too hard to watch.

I know the mineral resources of Niger. In a previous life I was a mining engineer and mineralogist who worked all over the world.

We COULD mine our own if the politicians and ‘ecologists’ would allow it.

But failing that, if we really need it, why don’t we just buy it? Cheaper and more moral than sending troops to try to control the nation. Even if we have to bid against the Chinese and Russians for it, it would still be cheaper.

But why am I even discussing this with someone who just loves military expeditionism?

I believe we were operating the largest drone surveillance base in Africa to try to track terrorist groups.

Wouldn’t put it past this administration and State Department to start backing the terrorists to destabilize Niger in an attempt to unseat the govt and discredit the Russians as a protection force

1. James Buchanan

2. Woodrow Wilson

3. Lyndon Johnson

4. Joe Biden

At this rate, I'll move Biden up to #3. He's working hard and it won't take much longer. He sucks. Before I had Jimmy Carter on the list. But nah, Carter was not that bad.

“..no good reason to be meddling in their internal problems..”

Other than paying rent for two airbases, one cost over $200 million and operates drones, I don’t know what we do for them. Whatever it is, Russia has offered them a better deal.

From what I have read Africa, is reacting to the the State Department constantly pushing the homosexual agenda calling it immoral. Also they apparently buy into China/Russian PR in which they label the US as a warmonger and worse.
