Catholics in the U.S., one of the country's largest single Christian groups, hold far more diverse views on abortion rights than the official teaching of their church.
While the Catholic Church itself holds that abortion is wrong and should not be legal, 6 in 10 U.S. adult Catholics say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, according to a newly released profile of Catholicism by Pew Research.
I think the tide is turning. 24 states are against abortion.

As much as I loathe Bergoglio and all his works, I can’t totally pin this one on him (though he hasn’t helped), as similar number have been seen in polling for perhaps the last 30 years. The blame goes to left-wing priests and bishops married to the Democrat party who have dropped the ball on this issue and refused to implement orthodox Catholic thought in parish schools, diocesan high schools, and even ordinary parish catechism. We’re reaping what’s been sown for 50 years.
As a proud participant in the Latin Mass subculture, however, I’d imagine that if they did a poll of us, you’d see very different numbers. Probably >98% anti-abortion.
I wonder if those catholics know the 6th Commandment.
Catholics just aren’t what they used to be. Jack Catholics? Greed and “can’t we all just get along” has replaced the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. They put the gubmint and DNC ahead of God.
So 60% of the flock are nothing but Biden Cafeteria Catholics. The Priests, Cardinals and the Marxist Pope are fine with it as the $$$$$ must keep coming in.

Many Catholics just like many Christians, are cafeteria Catholics and Christians. Sad.
It has been true that rates of abortion by Catholics mirror rates by other groups. Not something to be proud of, but just a fact of life. Many people don’t follow their church’s teachings on a lot of things.
