You’ll be dropping a lot of dollar on that Whopper.
Menu prices at fast food chains across California have increased, as a new law went into effect requiring them to pay a $20-an-hour minimum wage to workers from Monday.
The Post checked menus at several restaurants in the Los Angeles area to see if the costs are already being passed onto consumers — with mixed results.
The biggest leap on was at a Burger King, where a Texas Double Whopper meal cost $15.09 on March 29, but surged to $16.89 on April 1, a price whopping increase of $1.80 for the same meal.
Most other items increased anywhere from 25 cents to a dollar. Burger King did not respond to a request for comment.

And then campaign on fixing the horrible, evil, greedy business problems.
LOOK closely at the reduced size in ounces....
GOOFY black woman named LEE just campaigned on that in Calif.
In my part of California the price for a cheese burger at in and out is $6.60, fries are $3.50 and a large drink is $4.50. All the McD’s in my area have already replaced front counter personal with computer kiosks, so if you have cash you can’t eat there.
Robots & AI are going to eliminate all low wage workers within the next 3 years. Kids in HS today better learn a trade so they can make a living. YMMV. IMHO.
5 bucks for fries and a drink.
Tuesday is burger and tots for 6.99 at Ruby Tuesday.

The poor and minorities hardest hit.
Those out of work should demand total socialism. Direct payments paid to them from the government by the taxpayers as a form of “from those who have to those who have not.”
Karl Marx wrote:
“From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” (German: Jeder nach seinen Fähigkeiten, jedem nach seinen Bedürfnissen). In his 1875 Critique of the Gotha Programme.
Gallup News:
Since 2010, young adults’ positive ratings of socialism have hovered near 50%, while the rate has been consistently near 34% for Gen Xers and near 30% for baby boomers.
“LOL ..... Wait until those new low information $20/hr wage earners get their first new rate paychecks and discover the new and exciting world of being in a higher tax bracket. It’s gonna be Epic!”
Even better if they get priced out of the EITC brackets. My wife’s niece counts on a huge tax refund every year to buy her goodies.
Paying more FICA and Medicare also
What you’re proposing is called shrinkflation. A muppet and a puppet don’t like.
$10-$12 for a taco stand burrito is the current range. It’ll likely go up now.
Brilliant.

The minimum wage in Seattle for a large business went to $19.96 on 01 January.
Small business is still exempt in 2024 - I think they get the state minimum wage, which is around $16.50.
In January 2025, every Seattle business will pay the same minimum wage, regardless of size.
For $16.89 one could get a very nice steak to cook at home.
When I started working in the early 70’s, the minimum wage was $1.60 per hour, which works out to about $12.65 now with inflation. Gas was only .26-.28 per gallon, which would only be about $2.25 per gallon now, absent OPEC and taxes.
I get sticker shock every time I’m at a restaurant or store now, but given the change in cost for nearly everything since those days, in addition to our systemic inflation, $20 per hour isn’t so far out of line.
As a USAF E-1 at Lackland AFB, my base pay (which was all I got) was just shy of $150 a month. An E-1 now begins their service at $1865 per month, and rises to over $2000 after 4 months TIS.
Cost per one minute, rounded to the nearest amount, costs approximately $0.33. Adds up.
They’ve already reduced the portion sizes significantly.
Young people tend to vote just like their parents, but 5%-10% further to the Left.
More than 50% of the kids who turn 18 and vote this year will be non-white. They vote at least 75% Democrat.
White youngsters are more complex.
About 5%-10% gravitate towards the Libertarian Party.
As they age, they gravitate back to the major parties, but they actually split - around 50-50 - Republican and Democrat, after leaving the Libertarians.
White European Americans - as a group - consistently vote 55%-65% Republican.
