Biden Is Lapping Trump When It Comes to Campaign Cash — and the Incumbent Will Likely Need It
NY Sun ^ | March 30, 2024 | AP

President Biden’s reelection campaign is raising gobs of cash. And it has an election-year strategy that, in a nutshell, aims to spend more — and spend faster.

Not only has Mr. Biden aimed to show himself off as a fundraising juggernaut this month, but his campaign is also making significant early investments both on the ground and on the airwaves — hoping to create a massive organizational advantage that leaves his Republican opponent, President Trump, scrambling to catch up.

While the money pouring in has given Mr. Biden and the Democrats a major cash advantage, it’s also becoming clear Mr. Biden will need it.

Throughout his life in business and politics, Mr. Trump’s provocations have earned him near limitless free media attention. Mr. Biden, meanwhile, has often struggled to cut through the noise with his own message despite holding the presidency.

That means Mr. Biden is going to need oodles of cash to blanket battleground states where a few thousand votes could mean the difference between victory or defeat.

Mr. Biden’s organizational and outreach effort began in earnest this month, with the campaign using his State of the Union address as a launching pad to open 100 new field offices nationwide and boosting the number of paid staff in battleground states to 350 people.

It’s also currently in the middle of a $30 million television and digital advertising campaign targeting specific communities such as Black, Hispanic, and Asian voters.

In one example of the incumbent president’s organizational advantage, his reelection campaign in February had 480 staffers on the ground, compared with 311 to that of Mr. Trump.

“We’re ramping up campaign headquarters and field offices, hiring staff all across the country before Trump and his MAGA Republicans have even opened one single office,” Mr. Biden boasted Friday.

People always pop up to say fundraising advantages don't mean anything. They point to primaries where somebody got outspent by a lot and still won. Primaries don't have low info voters obviously. They are totally different from the general election. The Obama campaign's ability to identify and get low info voters to the polls was the difference in 2012. They were able to do that because they were so well funded.

And when Deep State counts the votes, fundraising is a about paying for the steal.

The battle lines have been drawn and there are very few voters who are persuadable at this point.

This is lining up to be the Harley Davidson of elections.

To those understand, no persuading is necessary. To those who don't understand - or don't care, no persuading is possible.

Campaign cash is going to be relevant only to the extent that it is used to finance get out the vote /vote fraud operation.

Democrats will always have more money than Republicans. That's because they are the party of the rich and the ultra-rich.

Yet the notion persists the Dems are "for the Little Guy." Many older Democrat voters still cling to this false belief and vote "D" reflexively without thinking.

Bush had more money than Gore and Kerry.

Money is important. But how much money are they gonna have to spend to drag Joe’s mouldering corpse across the finish line?

when an incumbent president needs not one but TWO wingmen to help him get a dance partner...he is not worth dancing with. but, you know...stupid Americans only care about mean tweets and will only believe what the media and their rice Krispies tell them.

GOTV is the difference in close elections. Like 2012. The Obama campaign's GOTV was far superior to Romney's. Although the Romney operation seems to have been incompetent too. But a more competent operation still couldn't have matched Obama's sophistication.

I've been seeing a lot of one Biden ad recently, where Biden says that Trump is obsessed with revenge.

Not sure that message will ring for undecideds.

It’s easier when you have mobilized and weaponized much of the government of the United States to help you fund and win the election turn out contest.

Whatever it takes to fund the ballot creation scheme they've been working on.

Lots of laundered foreign money. He will likely have 3 billion to burn on GOTV fraud.
